Love their products - cheap and reasonably good quality
Every once in a while, a laptop comes along that defies its low price. Yet again, the Acer Aspire E 15 is one of those laptops. Punching well above its weight class, the 15-inch machine has a sharp 1080p display, good performance and a wide variety of ports. The laptop's keyboard is comfortable, its battery life is decent and it stays cool under a heavy workload. Despite a few notable shortcomings -- a poor webcam, bulky design and unwelcome bloatware -- the Aspire E 15 offers excellent bang for your buck, which is why it's our best overall sub-$500 laptop and a very good choice for students.
If you are doing a lot of games and downloading a lot I would not recommend this laptop. But, If you have a few games and like to shop or watch movies on the Netflix or prime in your bed room read the news, look up different things. This is the laptop for you. I'm not writing any professional type contract's or scientific term paper. Other wise I like my Acer a lot. When you have problems with it, try asking for help from other owners. ;^)
I purchased an Acer Aspire ES 15 Laptop from the GoodGuys. The number of the item is ES1-531-P8NJ. To say that I am disappointed is an understatement. The selling promo implies that the 8Gb of ram makes it run faster. In reality there is no benefit. My old Toshiba Celeron laptop with 4 GB runs faster. The Acer does run cooler, however, because overheating is a major problem for Toshibas.
After only two weeks I had to return the Acer: it began doing unusual things and slowed right down. I tried to do a reset, but it stopped on the name and password screen and refused to boot thereafter.
Acer did a factory reset and said the problem was caused by third party software. This was absolute rubbish and a cop out on their part. I had hardly had time to put any software on it in only two weeks.
The biggest problem is the Acer cr..ware that you cannot get rid of even with a factory reset. It keeps updating though I don't use it. You have to pay to use the Acer cloud service when Skydrive and Google Drive are free, for the amount of storage I want.
There are ongoing issues. It often will not boot up automatically when you close with the restart button. You have to keep pressing the start button on the Acer Laptop to make it start again. Acer's doctored Windows 10 is the culprit. Why don't laptop manufacturers give you the option of a clean Windows 10 install. Let's face it, they do not make any more money from the C ware after you have bought the new laptop.
Overall I will give the Acer Aspire ES 15 six out of ten. Sorry, that is the best I can do.
