Online Home Careers Reviews – Legit or Scam?
from 68 reviews Review It

With Online Home Careers you have another example of a classic work at home scheme. If you pay attention to all the red flags found on both the site promoting it and the actual sales page you’ll begin to see how there’s no way that this can be a real long term work at home opportunity.

Most people come across this breed of work at home offer through an advertorial, basically a thin one page affiliate site that is designed to look like a real news site. They use IP tracking to customize the page based on your location to even further increase the effectiveness of their sales efforts.

This fake news site hypes the product through an account of a young woman, in this case Melissa Johnson, who just happens to be using this program to make a whopping $8,000 a month. That’s a yearly salary just shy of 100k, putting her right up there with aerospace engineers, and all that just working 15-18hrs a week!

These sites never go away, and are continuously being tweaked to promote new programs. The essential layout stays the same but a few details, most importantly the URL and name of the site, change when they get exposed.

Once you actually click through to the sales page for Online-Home-Careers-com you’ll be hit with plenty more red flags. Starting with the nonsensical claim that this program has been advertised on popular news sites, even if that was true that says nothing about the actual legitimacy of the system.

In the next stage of their pitch you’ll be introduced to Ryan Stephens the supposed mastermind behind Online Home Careers. Following the standard make money online sales script you’ll be told all about Ryan’s rags to riches story and how now that he’s made it he’s willing to share his secrets of success with you.

So what is Online Home Careers all about?

The sales page does not reveal what the course is about only telling you what it’s not. However, if you go to the main site,, you can see the company’s entire product line.

This includes: ecommerce, affiliate marketing, and dropshipping training, a website from My Creative Site Designs, and access to the Dropship Club.

You get all this for the price of $97, and it’s yours to try out risk free for 30 days.

According to their refund policy

If Student cancels within 30 days of transaction, they will receive a full refund of the purchase price. After the 30 days of the Student may cancel, without penalty or obligation. Any and all refunds after 30 days of transaction will be at the discretion of management. If Student wishes to cancel in any event, Student can either call Customer Service at 877-866-4070, mail to Online Home Careers, 654 N 800 E Ste 322, Spanish Fork, UT 84660, or email notifying them of their request, at which time their account will be cancelled.

Additional things to keep in mind…

Under the list of things included in your start up kit one of the bonuses is a Quick-Start Coaching Assessment Call with a trained “Start Up Specialist.”

Historically these calls come from 3rd party coaching companies that buy leads from these types of work at home programs. These coaches will tell you that they can help your business succeed and offer their services at exuberant prices – usually based on what your credit card limit will allow.

Also keep in mind that if you’re asking for a refund past the 30 day period the disclaimer states that it will be at the discretion of a manager, usually one of the requirements will be that you actually tried to work the program. So if you buy the course and realize that it’s not for you submit your refund application as soon as possible.

Come on people, use your brain for one second and think ! If it did what it promised you wouldn’t see a car, in the AM, on the road for work. Do not get wrapped up in the BS, the only one making money is the scammer and its millions….

Ordered thinking I could do this and if not, could get a refund. Wrong or wishful thinking. Can’t get the refund that I originally requested within minutes of receiving the information.
They also sold my contact information and I received many calls trying to sell me a website and I am still getting those calls 3 months later.
After months of refund requests, still no money back. Don’t spend it in the first place.

Im glad I read the reviews before buying this. I always say why would someone sell you an idea if they are making money with it? I would rather keep all the information for myself and have no competition. Something that always sounds to good to be true always is true. I know people that do online marketing and they make millions selling u some BS ideas that they gather from generic books and webistes claiming it to be their own. people should be ashamed selling this crap and sad part is most of us fall for it.

I invested $15,000.00 into this scam before I realized it was a scam. I am so upset with myself I cannot believe how I fell for all their B.S. Online Home Careers is a scam so stay away from anything to do with this company. I have already invested 15,000.00 and still don’t know what is going on and now they want $10,000.00 to do a website for me because they say you really can’t make very much money selling on e-bay you need your own website. They tell you in the beginning that they help you make a website for free. That’s BS because now their saying that I need to invest $10,00.00 more to build the website. I got scammed but good. Very disappointed in myself that I just wasted that money and shame on Online Home Careers
    for ripping people off.

I wouldn’t trust it read the reviews. Unfortunately the people who are saying it not a scam are very likely hired by the scammers in some way to sucker people in so they can keep making money ripping others off. Not only that don’t you think if it was so easy to make money like the way they described would everybody be doing it. How many people do you really know that are doing it I mean get real. people are and always will fall for scams.

Online Home Careers has two websites set up, one with all the bells and whistles and then one that looks more bussinessy. The bells and whistles website ( states that they have a 365day money back guarantee but then when you go to their bussinessy website ( it states you only have a 30day money back policy. I called the customer service phone number (877) 866-4070 to ask about the refund policy (pressed number 2) A lady picked up and I asked her about the refund policy, she said oh please call back and press number 1. So I did just that, 20 minutes later still waiting and then I get an automated message, “We are either away from our desks or speaking with another client please leave a message.” Wow! I’m definitely not falling for this!

I figured it was a scam when I went to the picture of the cheque, could make out the street name, then curiously tried to look for the street name in the city I live in. Lo and behold, nothing existed. I went back to the picture of the cheque, and even the “postal code” (since I am in Canada) didn’t look like a Canadian postal code – more a US zip code if that!

Even though I can say there are legit companies that do allow you to telecommute (like, call centers hiring virtual agents such as myself) but it is at a rate that you’d expect more from that type of job – not such an exaggerated rate as what was given in these false claims!

Remember, ppl – Google is your best friend ;)

It’s always when you have the least money to lose, that you’re the most vulnerable. This horrible company got to me thru my address book! First time was a hotlink supposedly from my niece in B.C. Showing me how “Melissa” made a fortune while staying at home in Kingston Ontario (the nearest city to where I live)! WELL! Hook, Line, and Sinker!! I thought if the article came from my niece then it must be OK. After I paid my $99, I received another email link – this time from my best friend – about Melissa striking it big in Toronto, where I just recently moved from!! I phoned Online Home Careers, and raised the proverbial roof about breaking into my address book, and sending bogus msnbc news articles as if endorsed by my personal friends. They swore up and down they did not operate like that (interestingly, the emails then stopped). After demanding a refund, they told me it could not be processed until I a) received my CD, and b) returned the blasted thing to them! It arrived in the post today, and will soon be winging its way back from whence it came!! I just pray I get my money back.

I hate this “company” for being a scam; but mostly I hate them for making me feel so DUMB!!!

I understood it could be done for under $100 US,, I paid $77 US then they wanted another $163 US for a hosting sight, then another $199 US for something called traffic cracking. So I said enough is enough and applied for my money back. I have been waiting a month-zero back. Also waiting for a refund from Hostzilla, also nothing. It is truly a scam. Since then I get regular calls and emails from other online careers, so they must have sold my information to others. Be warned!!

THANKS TO ALL. This scam had me going. I was thinking about taking the bite/bate. It sounded a little too good to be true so I began to search for information on the company and came across this site. My warning tip was the fact that only two spots were left in Berkeley,my hometown. Why would such a good thing be so limited? I didn’t really buy their excuse about one on one time with you. This set off the warning bells. Thanks again!

As another commenter asked, why would Yahoo post this ad and others like it? I’ve read and know of too many people who have been scammed by the “Ryans” out there and it’s so wrong. I’m not a vindictive person; I do, though, have a strong sense of justice and I believe that the heads of these scams and everyone who cooperates with them in perpetrating their fraud should be legally prosecuted.

I became a victim of Online Home Careers over a month ago. I’ve bought it, I reviewed their materials online in 1 day, and I understood that it was not for me. So on 2nd day I called them asking for refund. They’ve said “We sent you the CD, after you receive it please send it back to us- just write on the label “Return to sender”- and they gave me the number to sign. I did exactly as they’ve said. Christmas passed, New Year’s passed… I called them to find out what’s happened with my refund. I spoke to Beverly on one day and to Christina on another one. They’ve said they still “didn’t receive a package back”. First of all- there were no any disclosure that they’d send anything and I’d have to send it back to them. I was under impression that I’m getting everything online. Second- they don’t give a label to mail it with the tracking #, so now I don’t have a proof where this CD is. So, I have no other choice as to report them to FBI as a fraud business. They advertise money back guarantee, they don’t say about some package that the buyer supposed to receive and to send back to them and later they instruct the buyer to send it without a trucking #. So after that they claim they have never received it.

I did get scammed. not enough research. They send you the package before you go through their screening process and tell you that you need 3,000 -5,000 operating fees. You speak to customer service to cancel and they tell you they can’t until the package is returned to them. Then it takes over 6 weeks to get the package so you’re past the 30 days for a full refund. You ship the package back at your cost and when you do get your refund you only get a portion of the charge, no postage cost, the reason you don’t get your purchase price is because of their restocking fee because it is past the 30 days.

No one should pursue this scam.

    February 4th, 2013 at 5:54 pm

Susan, don’t do this. In my “comment” I pointed out a few glitches in the site, including the second paragraph in their Privacy Policy (misspelled, by the way), that had me wondering about their offer. I wonder whether they will post my comment. Do read the Privacy Policy; in fact, you might even copy it for a future reminder.

Do report this fraud to the FCC, FBI, BBB, and any other agency you can think of. No, I haven’t subscribed to their product, but their flagrant predation needs to be stopped cold and for that to happen, people like you and so many others – maybe those who write here who also have been scammed – need to collect some contact data and start calling and writing.

I’m very sorry about your situation, Susan.

BTW, Melissa also lives in Chico, CA, although the “photocopy” of her paycheck has a different address on it.

Grab it and growl :) – and hang in there!

I wanted to look up the company owner first, before I wasted my hard earned money on another scam.

When I tried to close the tab, a gray box came up and said ‘Wait, how about $97.00?, I tried to close it again, it said ‘Wait, how about $77.00?, tried again, it said ‘how about $47.00?.

By that point, my faith in the company being on the up & up, sinking quickly. So, I typed in the company name, review, and scam and found this site.

I’d like to know how these people sleep at night? You can find ways to make money on the internet for free. Never, ever pay for something that you can research yourself or learn yourself.

I just called to get a refund. I was told they mailed something to me today and I have to wait until I get it and then I would have to call back for an RMA # and then ship it back.

What a scam! I got a call from a guy who got the lead and told me he could pair me with an expert for the next 12 months so I don’t make any mistakes, but I had to qualify to be put forward to his Director. He asked how much money I’d be willing to invest in my own company, he based it on my credit card limits from what it sounds like because he suggested $10,000-$15,000 to invest. He kept pressuring me about making a decision today if I get all the information from his Director and when I said I might like 24 hours to think about it, he said I didn’t sound committed and that I could write his Director a commitment letter when I was ready. When I told him I felt this was high pressure sales, he then told me I was disqualified.
