BestHomeJobs.net Reviews – Legit or Scam?

April 1st, 2015  |  Published in Job Databases

BestHomeJobs.net is a job finder website which describes itself as the “most trusted and up-to-date resource for legitimate work at home job opportunities,” and says that your work at home job is waiting for you.

People are encouraged to sign up for their daily newsletter, where you will be sent information regarding “the best job sources” for work at home jobs, as well as any new job listings that are being featured.

Their newsletter is free, as is using their search engine to look for job listings and to connect with employers.

How Does It Work?

BestHomeJobs.net is actually powered by Indeed.com, another job finder website which has created this specific website to meet the needs of people who are only looking for jobs with telecommuting options.

Job seekers can just go to their website, input their location, the distance they are willing to travel, and the main keyword for the type of job they are searching for, and let their search engine do the work.

In addition you are welcome to better filter your search by including information about your estimated salary expectations, what kind of work schedule you are interested in, from full or part time to contractor or temporary work, as well as if you are interested in looking outside of your own field and into other popular work at home areas.

What to Consider

When looking for work at home job opportunities, you’ll want to spend a lot of time and effort looking for information and reviews on all employers, because the work at home job industry is unfortunately home to many, many unethical companies. You should never give your personal information to any company outright without doing your own background check.

Another questionable issue with BestHomeJobs.net is their daily newsletter. This website provides no Terms and Conditions, or any other information explaining their privacy policy or otherwise. This is an issue because the information they send you in this newsletter could easily be sponsored information that they are paid to disseminate to people who have signed up, which means that it could be sales and marketing information that is intentionally misleading.

The bottom line is that whenever looking for work at home jobs and independent business opportunities, you have to be willing to do the research on the company and the type of job you are being offered, or you could easily find yourself in an unpleasant situation.

PublicSectorJobs.info Reviews – Legit or Scam?

August 15th, 2012  |  Published in Job Databases

Public Sector Jobs, found at PublicSectorJobs.info, is a new job search website that helps people specifically looking for new employment within the public – or government – sector.

According to PublicSectorJobs.info, the public sector is the largest and most stable employment environment in the US, with 20,000,000 currently active positions with an expected increase in available positions by 10% or more over the next decade.

PublicSectorJobs.info is free to use. All they ask is that you accurately fill out your name and email address, for contact purposes, and then fill out a short questionnaire for them before you are able to access their jobs database.

The Purpose of the Questionnaire

PublicSectorJobs.info does not give an explanation for why they would like you to fill out this questionnaire before you can access their job listings, but the answer can easily be found in their Privacy Policy.

They state that they “may from time to time send you offers for goods or services relevant to the categories of interest you have chosen,” and that submitting your contact info to them gives them permission to send you “special offers that would be of value to any online customer.”

Also, they do share your information with affiliates and outside third parties to use for advertising purposes. So be aware that when you fill out the questionnaire on further your education, declaring bankruptcy, or finding cheaper health insurance, that your email inbox will soon be filled with advertisements from companies related to these topics.

The Bottom Line

After you have finished filling out the questionnaire at PublicSectorJobs.info, you will be taken to LocalJobsForAll.com, another job search site that will require you to complete yet another questionnaire before you can access their jobs database.

This second questionnaire is the same as the first, in that your information will be given or sold to third party sources to contact you, including your phone number. If you input your phone number, you will be contacted by sales people via the phone, whether or not you have registered with the National Do Not Call Registry.

Neither of these sites should be considered a good jobs search resource. If you are actually interested in government job, check USAJobs.gov, the government’s free, easy to use jobs search website.

Staff.com Reviews – Legit or Scam?

May 10th, 2012  |  Published in Job Databases

Staff.com is a new employment finder website that specializes in finding long term, full time employment for those looking to work a secure, stable position from the comfort of their own home.

Staff.com allows companies from the United States, United Kingdom, and Australia to use their website to find knowledgeable, reliable full time employees in positions like Data Entry, Programming, Design, Accounting, Legal Services, Telephone Support, and Personal Assisting.

It is 100% free for job seekers to become members of Staff.com and upload their resumes. In addition, they recommend job seekers include an audio or video recording of themselves to further attract potential employers.

How It Works

After you upload your resume to Staff.com, interested employers can contact you via email. If the employer decides they are interested in further interviewing you for a position, Staff.com will send you a link to that specific job so that you may apply for an official interview.

Unlike other employment websites, job postings are not available for members to see on Staff.com. Instead, these postings will only be provided to those that the companies have identified as a potential match for their open positions.

If you are hired, you will be given a full time salary based on 160 hours of work a month. If for some reason you do not complete 160 hours, your pay will be reduced.

Your work will be monitored by the Time Doctor software, which will take random screenshots during your scheduled work time to ensure that you are working when you are supposed to be.

What to Know

While many job finder websites have questionable issues with privacy and securing your personal information, Staff.com promises to never share or sell your personal information without first securing your permission.

However, for those employees that are hired through Staff.com but live outside of the Philippines, there is no way to secure direct deposit pay checks. Instead, you must pay a $25 fee for each pay check to be wire transferred, or you can secure payment through a moneybooker, an online payment service.

JobsOnline.net Reviews – Legit or Scam?

April 9th, 2012  |  Published in Job Databases

JobsOnline.net is a website that, as the name suggests, helps people find work. With the job market in a slow recovery many people are turning to sites like these to supplement their work search. Sites like this provide a convenient way to search for work in a wide range of industries and locations.

The site requires that you create a profile in order to view your job search results. Now before you create your profile and divulge your personal information make sure to read their privacy policies and be careful of what contact options you select.

If you allow them to they will share your info with third party advertisers and open you up to a wide selection of ads. JobsOnline.net will also put you in contact with a career advisor that will speak with you about your various education options.

If you do not wish to receive these solicitations make sure to uncheck the appropriate boxes when you are registering your profile. If you have already created a profile and wish to change your setting you may log back in and withdraw your approval for advertising.

Is OnlineJobs.net(.com) a Scam?

Lately this seems to be the preferred business model of most online job search websites. In exchange for allowing people the use of their jobs database they will attempt to get their consent to receive education ads.

Often times this strategy backfires especially when people haven’t carefully read the terms and conditions. The result is many people calling the website a scam and accusing them of spamming.

If you wish to use the site and are worried about opening yourself up to these ads make sure you check the appropriate settings. Some people even go as far as using a junk email address and not giving them all of their correct info.
