Twitter Profit House Review
Are the Twitter Cash Kits a Scam...?
Twitter Profit House (twitterprofithouse.com) is a new take on a
growing trend in home business opportunities. The company behind Twitter
Profit House has copied the aggressive marketing campaigns used by the creators
of simmilar products known as Google Cash Kits.
These people will stop at nothing to legitimize their offers as shown by the
way they advertise their products. The classic characteristics of these
campaigns include using fake blogs, developing websites to resemble newspaper
articles, and using IP reading scripts to regionally customize their offers.
There's a reason why they use an arsenal of deceptive advertising tricks to
sell their system but before I get into that I want to talk about their program
first.
What is Twitter and Can Twitter Power House Really Make
You Money...?
For those who don't know Twitter is an insanely popular communication
tool for both personal and business users. It allows you to "Tweet" short
messages that get broadcasted to your community of followers.
Many online businesses, celebrities, and every days folks have taken strongly
to this phenomenon. However as popular and entertaining as Twitter is there're still debates going on about the monetary value that Twitter possess.
There are ways to make money with twitter but it's definitely not the gold
mine that proponents of Twitter Profit House and other Twitter Kits will
have you believe. The majority of people who make money with it
are supplementing an existing online business. Through Twitter
they can quickly announce a sale, the development of a new
product, or the release of free info to their followers.
The bottom line is that the value in Twitter comes from the ability to
communicate to millions of people instantly. However it's still up to you
to come up with ways to get these people to follow you on twitter.
So are Twitter Profit House and the Twitter Cash Kits a Scam...?
These programs make unreasonable claims about the average person's profit
potential with Twitter and also use a plethora of deceptive advertising tactics to sell
their product. However, their worst infraction is that they hide a hidden
monthly fee from their customers.
If you take a look at the Terms and Conditions you'll see this,
"By submitting an order through this website, you are agreeing to receive
online access to the Twitter Profit House Resource Center for a 7-day trial
period...Following the 7-day trial period, the credit card you submitted will
automatically be charged $99.99 for monthly membership access to the Twitter
Profit House Resource Center."
Most people never see this section and end up getting billed the
outrageous amount of a hundred bucks a month for info that can be found for free
or at much more reasonable rates. Also keep in mind that they start the
trial period the day you order not the day you receive your CD kit.
If you were unaware of these hidden charges and need to cancel you can reach
Twitter Power House at 888-822-4507 or by email at
support@twitterprofithouse.com.
Additional Twitter Cash Kit Scams to Watch Out For...
The really scary thing about these companies is that they're good at what
they do and over the years have become proficient at reinventing their scams.
Just like with the Google kit scams whenever one product stops selling or gets
exposed they simply change the name and start all over again.
Below is a snapshot of some of the more popular twitter scams around at the
time of writing this article. I'm sure that there'll be a lot more so I
will update this page as I come across them.

Tracy columbus | 2:08pm on February 13th, 2010 | Yes, it is a scam. I am out $274 for not reading the fine print for their similar google claim. They charge you after 5 to 7 days and don't look for a name you recognize on your credit card statement because in the four months I was charged, it never was the same name. Only the amount remained the same. Please don't make the same mistake I made! |
Tabitha North Carolina | 10:47am on October 27th, 2009 | I ordered the system today...once I read all of this I called my bank. The suggestion was to cancel your card. Not your account. They will quickly send you a new card in 5-7 days. Done. I am usually extremely smart about this, but a girl from my hometown published her success in our newspaper with her picture...imagine that!! Can't trust anyone!

Nathan New Zealand | 12:28am on August 20th, 2009 | This is a damn good way of making money. Fortunately thanks to all your experiences I will save my $1 entrance fee, which is damn enticing with the believability of the wording and folk they use in marketing there scheme. Thank you. Now if I could just get 1 million of you good folk to all send me $1, I would be extremely happy. You don't need to give me your credit card details which will save me from the temptation of putting my greasy paw unethically in your pocket. Just send it and I promise this money will be used selfishly to progress my hobby of cycling. Looking at a Lance Armstrong special if enough pilgrims feel guided to contribute, not. Happy days are here again baby. lol :)) |
Mike Akron, Ohio | 10:37pm on August 14th, 2009 | So i was like everyone else who got suckered into this SCAM...but I used a pre-paid debit card..I did receive a disc in the mail...but from what i have read so far...i am just going to throw it away...thanks...wished i had known sooner about this SCAM...but i just lost $1.97....could have been worse ! |
vicki scaman chippewa falls,WI. | 5:55am on August 9th, 2009 | I was lured into a membership with the promise that I could try twitter profit house for only a $1.99 and if I wasn't satisfied with it I could cancel at any time and not get billed. Once I saw I was billed $99.99,[without my consent],I called and canceled, but they billed me again this month $89.99.I called immediately and canceled AGAIN. How can I get my money back and stop them from continually billing me? |
Bobby Pennington Shelby NC | 2:39pm on July 25th, 2009 | I also purchased the $1.99 and .99 cents shipping to make alot of money online with twitter profit house. I was also taking advantage of by these crooks. $99.99 charge to my account also a .97 cents charge from them and from there affiliate united benefits $29.99 I filed a complaint with my bank no help. I guess I am out of my hard earned money to these crooks also. |
Seth Nevada | 7:26pm on July 22nd, 2009 | Also there is an article released by the BBB on July 7 about Twitter scams. Please read them and get your money back THIS IS A SCAM. |
Joyce North Carolina | 3:06pm on July 22nd, 2009 | An update,
I did receive the $49.99 refund that twitter profit house and I compromised on back in my bank account today. I have also canceled my debit card too. If you want at least something back, you cannot play nice with them. |
Joyce North Carolina | 5:21pm on July 20th, 2009 | Well after several emails to twitter profit today and an email from them stating in so many words that they would not refund my money, I sent them this that I found on another web site (Rip-Off Reports):
"Rip-off Reports recently posted an article about a work at home idea that is advertising heavily on line right now. Here’s their story:
AOL News recently had an article on an easy way to make money from home using the internet. They interviewed a woman who used the (1) Cash Secret Club (cashsecret.com) and (2) Twitter Profit House (twitterprofithouse.com), and also insisted that profits would only be made using both of these websites.
Neither one of these programs is honest. Both say they will charge you less than $2 and (1) send you a kit or (2) give you access to a website that will assist you in your profiting endeavors.
What neither of them say [in large print] is that they are both only 7 day trials and will begin to charge you (1) $81.32 or (2) $99.99 PER MOTH after that time. In addition, they share your contact information with other companies and automatically sign you up for other scam programs."
I then got an email from twitter profit saying that they would compromise and refund me $49.99 if I accept the compromise since in so many words it was my fault I did not see the "fine print." But they are still going to keep $50. The news about them is getting out rapidly. I wasn't even interested in making loads of money, just a little extra cash on the side. They are greedy and deceptive. |
Keith canada | 3:58pm on July 18th, 2009 | According to my credit card rep., the only way to stop this theft is to E mail the MOTHERS at Support@twitter profit house .com and cancel any further transactions with profit house AND AFFILIATES...Any amount profit house has taken from your credit card prior to this course of action is probably lost.A good idea to cancel your card as it may already be compromised by affiliates associated with these slime balls!!! |
Amy Location unknown | 1:12pm on July 18th, 2009 | Also didn't pay attention to the notice of "automatically billed $99.99 after 7 days" tried canceling the trial after started, but still got charged. I normally would never put my credit card info in for anything like this.. was a dumb move on my part. Called the company and they said they would refund in 3 to 5 business days... we'll see... after reading reviews here I don't trust them much. Called my credit card company and filled fraud charges just in case. Hopefully they won't be able to charge me further.
Anyone ever get their money back? They seemed helpful.. I have my fingers crossed. |

I am having the same problem. I have never put my credit info in for any Twitter Profit House anything. When I shop online for something I am always sure to use pay pal. Now I am faced with charges that are unreal. I have tried to call the number listed on the site and get very unuseful information and no help at all and what I have been told by the customer service rep that there are no supervisors to take calls for complaints. I have also tried to use the website support@TwitterProfitHouse.com and it doesnt exist. Hopefully we can all have some resolution to this issue. If anyone has been successful at getting their money back please post it. |
Annette C Lockhart Texas | 6:08pm on July 17th, 2009 | I am going to report them to the Federal Trade Commission, California State Attorney General, Fraud division and the Better Business Bureau. I thought I was signing up for Twitter not Twitter Profit House. I also was on scammed. I've gotten a e-mail from Jeff Hayes on the 10th of July stating that my $99.99 would be refunded in 3 to 5 business days. Well I am now on the sixth day and I started calling the support # at 8:00am this morning. These are unauthorized charges and the customer support people refuse to connect me to the billing department. I spoke to someone who claims his name is Rodge who was very rude and claimed to be a supervisor and refused to let me talk to his supervisor or give me his employee # which by law he is required to do. He tried to intimidate me by telling me that the phone message is taped and I said good, I want to talk to someone in the billing department and he said that they don't have a # to call. By the way with the research I have done, the address I found for them is Twitter Profit House 263 West Olive Ave #130 Burbank Ca 91502 and the customer support # is 888-822-4507 not that I think that it will do any good. |
Keith canada | 6:54am on July 17th, 2009 | Outright theft Cancel your credit or debit card NOW |
Susan Seattle WA | 7:32pm on July 14th, 2009 | I too am un-employed and desperate for work. I have been scammed before but was hoping this would pan out. Is there any such thing as a legitimate work from home job? I don't need to make a million dollars I just need to make enough to get me by. I am on the verge of losing my apt., car, storage, and have no food. I have been doing whatever I can to get work but have found nothing but small low paying jobs. Times are desperate, I hope they get better soon. I hate those scammers! |
Scammed Location unknown | 7:12pm on July 11th, 2009 | Everything stated here is along the exact line of my experience. It is obvious that we have all been scammed. I too received a call from someone representing herself from twitter profit house, trying to get me to verify info and sign up for something more. That's when I became suspicious and asked her to cancel it. It was clearly w/in the 7 day trial period. She was abrupt and hung up. The next thing I know I received the two charges for $99.99 & $9.99. I called to request a refund and asked them to cancel it (again - I thought I canceled it with the phone call), only to be told that I was charged because I didn't cancel on time. LIES! I have sent the email as they instructed and received a response saying they will cancel it but with no indication that the charge will be removed. I called again and they keep saying they can't help me. I gave them a chance and now I'm going through my credit card company to file a dispute. In tough times we are all desperate, but we must remember that we should be smarter than scam artists are. EVIL SCAMMERS! |
luis california | 1:03pm on July 11th, 2009 | i was scammed too , i saw that i was being billed $99.99 from Twitter profit house , and $9.99 from search engine pro , so i called my bank and told them to stop the transaction and they still charged me , so i contacted twitterprofithouse.com support, and cancelled my account and asked for a refund , so far they have only refunded the $9.99 . brett los angeles | 5:31pm on July 10th, 2009 | DONT DO IT ITS A COMPLETE SCAM THEY SAY 1.99$ THEY CHARGE 109.99 |
kevin rhodes baltmore | 4:08pm on July 9th, 2009 | I was charged a fee of $99.99 today and another charge or $9.99. I didn't know what the fees were for since the only website I got was a members this site doesn't mention anything about the $99.99 or the $9.99. I thought the original $1.99 I paid was for that information on that site and never saw anything else . |
