ShopperServices.com
run local newspaper ads saying you can make
$150 an hour mystery shopping in your own
area. When you answer this ad, they offer a
30 day TRIAL membership for $1.95. THEN they
try to get you to pay $1.00 for a "Value
Plus Online" 14 day trial; another $1.00 for
an "iExplore" 30 day trial and finally,
$1.95 for a 7 day trial at "Surplus
Supplies."
While Value Plus and iExplore could be of
value, the Surplus Supplies is a joke. You
pay for a site that just sends you to other
sites, much like a search engine only set up
to look like a store. It has zero value.
The biggest SCAM is ShopperServices.com. This
site states that they will "train" you to be
the best mystery shopper so you will get the
elite jobs, which just happen to be only on
their site.
"Training" is you going out and "mystery
shop" any fast food and any restaurant you
like and then filing a "report." ShopperServices.com will then "review" these reports
and, if you "pass," you gain access to the
list of elite mystery shopping companies and
can search the job board.
My reports "failed." Why? Because I used
punctuation, according to
ShopperServices.com'
customer service phone call. Punctuation. Is
that obsurd or what? Write a legible,
detailed, full sentence report WITHOUT
Punctuation?? Customer service told me that
their system can not handle punctuation,
that it "messes" up the system.
A call to customer service was met from
the start with a rude agent. She was loud
and hostile. When I voiced my complaints, I
was told there was not a problem and that,
quote, "ShopperServices.com is a member of the
Better Business Bureau." What that has to do
with the inherent problems with this site or
the rude, inept service is beyond me.
Then I called customer service again,
this time I was asked, by a recording, to
leave my name and a phone number and someone
will get back to me. About two hours later,
a very rude man did call back. The first
words out of his mouth were "What do you
what?" (Say that with a sneer and you'll get
the idea.)
I asked why my emails were not answered,
it had been a week, and he snottily told me
all had been responded to. The emails I
received were from an auto responder,
telling me my email was received and someone
would get in touch with me soon. And, don't
respond to this email. This nasty guy
insisted that constituted a reply and my
questions answered.
This place is a SCAM. There are several
complaints voiced on Yahoo with similar
problems. Many saying they never got to the
site during the "trial." Once it came time
to bill, the "training reports" were
approved. This, by the way, is what ShopperServices.com considers "training you for the
elite jobs," having you pretend to shop,
write up a pretend report and then receive
no input, concrete comments or guidance of
any kind.
DON'T BE FOOLED BY THESE PEOPLE!!!
SHOPPER SERVICE'S is a SCAM, despite
their look, the come ons, and the promises.
Mystery shoppers don't make $150 an hour.
Most companies pay a small sum and a small
reimbursement for what may be a 20 minute
shop. Then you need to fill out a report,
which could take 20 minutes to an hour or
more. Add it all up and $150 an hour is a
far stretch. Maybe with the highest
certification and much experience, one might
receive $25 to $75 a shop. Most do not and
most companies do not let you keep your
purchase, unless it's a food shop. Those are
kind of difficult to return.
DO NOT go to ShopperServices.com. There
are NO services only problems. THIS SITE IS
A RIP-OFF, WHICH = SCAM!!!

OMG I wish I read your site before I signed up for this program Its been 3 days since I signed up and I still can not get my store page to show up. Every time I google my store page or type it in the url it does not reconize the name. I called customer service and the lady whom I spoke to told me she could do it and asked me If I had down loaded Mozilla. I'm going to call to cancell all the programs.

STAY AWAY!!! I just had to cancel my credit and debit cards! I signed up for the $1.95 and then they added on additional charges which sounded great at first. After I thought about it for a few minutes I realized I did not want to have to call several different companies to cancel. There website did now work. I called back to shoppers services and they told me to call customer service. Customer service told me to call back after the weekend because they did not have me in the system yet, as it took 24 hours and they were not open on the weekends. I told them I did not want to be put into the system several times, and the woman on the line got mad and said "I've already told you sir call back Monday, BYE," upon which I told her to go to hell! John Burton was who I talked to so I called back the number in the add and asked for him. Jamal awnsered and said he could not transfer me to him due to company policy. Any respected company will let you talk to the person which you did b... read more»

Yeah I called this place today because it seemed like it could be an easy job.
I called the place and after a few minutes on the phone I got real suspicious... but I gave them my debit card number anyway, naively I guess.
Then I did a search online and I came to this website and others... once I saw all the stories people had written about "ShopperServices" I hauled ass down to my bank and had them cancel the card right away.
I managed to thwart them thanks to all of you fine people out there. Mad props for taking the time out of your day to report these scammers and warn other would-be suckas... it's reassuring to see people using the internet for good rather than evil!

This company is definitely a scam!!!! I've learned since joining and allowing them to take the $14.95 out of my account for the pass three that a true mystery shopping company do not charge. They also do not offer a $150.00 payment per job. Most jobs pay anywhere from $10- $25 dollars per job. Shopper Services also have too many steps to go through before you can start making money. All of the steps are put their to prolong yur ability to make money and the more time they have to charge your account. Anyone reading this please do not join. Keep your $1.95 30 day trial money in your pocket and go and buy yourself a cup of coffee. I figure I wasted $46.95 almost $50 bucks over the life of this deal. Think about the gasoline I could have purchased. Moreover, think about the almost $50.00 bucks I wasted times millions of Americans. Scam for sure!!!!! Find a company that do not charge. That's what I'm doing.

Scam, Scam, Scam. I had a little feeling like the rep was a little too eager for my personal info, but I thought it was just me being suspicious of people. He offered me numerous other trials and I said no. Couldn't get on the website and then all of a sudden they had no record of me ever. I changed all my info and I am seriously contemplating taking them down with my bare hands.

I had good cs experience when I called in to cancel all of the services that were provided to me when I called in to set up the trial membership a week and a half ago. I decided to cancel because of the feedback that I have read the above customer service reviews and I decided to cancel because of the reviews. In addition to that the service is way to complicated to do in order to earn extra income. I have to say that I did not like all of the extras that were provided to me when I called in only to try one service. I had to cancel 3-4 other services. I am so happy that I have read the customer reviews and and went to shoppersservices.com and looked at the website to see how complicated it was. However I did not have bad customer service experience with any of the agents and I did not get into trying to find a job to shop and get paid .

I call them secretshopper dot scam!
Because that is what they do. They are a rip off They should be reported to the FBI. My credit card was maxed out because of these scam artists. I needed money to buy food I am a retired senior Citizen and because of all the extra charges I couldn't buy food. How pathetic is that and they don't care. Just try getting them to cancel your account with them. They keep placing charges on your card Pathetic - signed, very hungry

Man, I gave them my c.c number for the $1.95, told them my zip code, they said they had 50 businesses within my area, gave me an example of JC Penny's, having them give me shopping money to buy something, return it, and I'd get paid $50 on average for each job. Then I looked at the website, not a single company was within 45 minutes of my house, the few that were in Tacoma only have $5 to $10 per shopping experience. I have not been able to get a hold of a customer service rep since that initial phone call in which I did not say yes to any of the additional stupid services, though she pushed them on me. I'm really hoping I don't have to change all of my bank account info over this scam. ucky. Thanks for the comradely, makes me feel less alone in my trusting, naive, ignorance.

I had an excellent experience with Shopper Services. I'm a stay at home mom looking for a little extra money & something to do during the day. I called Shopper Services & signed up with them and Surplus Supplier. I did my training & got a job right away evaluating my local Golden Corral. I didn't get paid, but my husband and I enjoyed a free meal. No one ever promised me I'd make a lot of money. They told me I could make up to $50 an hour, but, being intelligent, I didn't believe that to be complete truth. I understand what "up to" means. It sounds to me like all you complainers just want to make a lot of money doing nothing. Best of luck to you.

I tried this! SCAMMERS!!! They will ask for credit card information right after you call to charge $1.95 then they will ask you to sign up for their affiliate programs -- DO NOT DO THIS! These affiliate programs are scammers, too. They will charge your credit card monthly for unauthorized charges! I tried to cancel my membership and they told me I have to call the affiliate programs myself -- when I called the numbers, they did not work and were trying to connect me to a number that would charge me per call! TERRIBLE!!! DO NOT FALL FOR THEM!

I called 800-745-8506 as advertised in the local paper. The rep blabbed on about the service and when it came to the $1.95 credit card charge, I told her that I do not give out credit card information to strangers. I told her I would gladly send a check. Sorry, pal...no can do...credit cards only. Well, that was my rip off alert and I hung up. Buh Bye!

oh my word! how did I ever get desperate enough to let these people rape me this way!?? All prior complaints hit home. How about this one...? I gave them my cell # because I can't afford a homephone... this # WAS private no-one ever had it until I got got by these people... now I get anywhere from 3 -7 sales calls a day! How can people prey on need like this?? KARMA KARMA KARMA some people just don't get life at all do they? Well LESSON LEARNED!

At this point, I am very concerned. I just agreed to the $1.95 fee two days ago and feels like de ja vu guys. I just experienced the "sales" thing and I simply ignored all the extras and said "NO", I dont want that stuff just the shopper program. Now I'm hoping I can cancel this thing without continued charges to my credit card.
I was just about to begin my sample shops when I came upon this website and this is such important information. Keep up the good work, Thanks!

Thank you for this website and the info. provided. Its reassuring to see actual customer reviews on here about shopperservices.com. I was really considering signing up coz the 1.95 signup fee sounded like it was a good deal considering the promises they were making me but thank God I waited and found your website and the great comments. Thank you for what you do to keep people from being lied to and stolen from. God bless you.

I was talked into this before I was even on the phone for 5 minutes! I got off the phone, did their tutorial and then went to cancel my Surplus Supply account, but my name and password did not work, I was terrified at the thought of the $35 a month charge, and just started to get this uneasy feelings, so I cancelled everything. Once I started reading the reviews I realized I did the right thing. I am still trying to cancel my Surplus Supply account!

SHOPPER SERVICES CUSTOMER REPS ARE THE RUDEST, MOST UNFRIENDLY, NON-CUSTOMER ORIENTED PEOPLE I'VE EVER DEALT WITH. THEY CHARGED ME. I PAID THE INITIAL 1.95 TO GET THE INFO AND THEY CHARGED MY ACCOUNT AN ADDITIONAL 14.95 AFTER I SPECIFICALLY TOLD THEM NOT TO. THEY EVEN TRIED TO PLAY MY VOICE CONFIRMATION FOR THE DEBIT WHERE YOU COULD CLEARLY HEAR ME REFUSING ANY SERVICES OR DEBITS FROM THEM, AND THEY DISCONNECTED THE CALL. WHAT A SCAM. STAY AWAY FROM THESE ILL-MANNERED SALES DRIVEN RIPOFF ARTISTS, PLEASE

These people ought to be arrested for promising things they have no plans to honor. You will not make money shopping for them. No one will pay what they promise. Their customer service unit is bad also. Especially Jessica. She couldn't care less about good service. Her rating is way below average. She's not fit to work even at Blockbuster where they don't care at all about good service.

This company may promise great customer service and results. Not true. Terrible customer service based on lies and excuses. YOU WILL NOT GET ANY JOBS FROM THIS COMPANY. THEY PROMISE YOU THAT YOU'LL MAKE $35 TO $50 PER JOB. NO ONE PAYS THIS AMOUNT, NO MATTER WHAT THEY SAY. This is a waste of your time. Too much work and time is needed to see any results. Get a real job, or one that keeps promises. This isn't it.
