Online Business Systems Reviews

Is Online Business Systems a Scam?

Online Business Systems is a company that works as a lead generation and marketing tools developer for one of the largest public companies around. If you find yourself at online-business-systems.com, you'll notice that there is very little upfront information about the actual online business opportunity they're offering.

This is one of the reasons that some people who are looking for a way to make money online accuse Online Business Systems' marketing techniques as a "scam". Once someone makes their way through the sign up process at their website, they are very surprised when they get to the end and see what the opportunity really is.

After you sign up for the work at home information kit you will be charged $9.95 for shipping and handling. When you receive the kit you will have 14 days to decide if you want to proceed with the business opportunity, after which you will be charged $39.95 for the kit.

It's only after this that you find out that the business opportunity they're looking at is actually the multi level marketing company Herbalife. This is a company that manufactures vitamins and health supplements and markets them through independent distributors. And Online Business Systems is basically a "lead generation" website for Herbalife, meaning they find people who are interested in making money and refer them to Herbalife.

Many people complain about the Online Business Systems package saying that it doesn't contain useful information, and that it's just basically a bunch of testimonials. There are also many additional products to buy in order to get your vitamin selling business of the ground. They don't tell you these things until your coach calls to explain what's really going on.

It's because of these shady marketing practices that Online Business Systems is often called a scam. There are many different ways to start an online business but you should learn from companies that are forthcoming and don't hide what they really sell.

The network/multi-level marketing industry itself is full of controversy and can be endlessly debated. By law these types of companies are required to reveal how much and what percentages of their distributors make money.

The results reveal that usually less than 5% of people working for companies like Herbalife make a profit and within that less than 1% make above a livable wage. I'm not going to go into a whole argument for or against MLMs here, but understand that most people do fail to make real money with that sort of setup.

If selling Herbalife is what you want to do then that's your choice, but know that you don't have to go through Online Business Systems to do it. Technically what OBS is doing is legal and not a scam, I just feel it's fair that you know exactly what you’re getting yourself into before you part with you get involved with them.

Note: If you are at this website because you're looking for a way to make money online then you should check out my top recommendation. It's the best method I've found that anyone can use to earn an income from home, Click Here.

First of all, this OBS is definitely a big scam!!! How can they sit there and say that the start-up package is free and soon as a person sign up they have to pay 9.95 for shipping and handling fees? OBS also states they they'll give a person $25 for registration. well, if this is right, then why don't they take the 9.95 out of the $25 they speak on giving to a person for joining? Also, people, please don't be fooled by the few positive comments relating to OBS because I these comments are coming directly from the schemers and scammers of this particular want-to-be business themselves!!! The negative responses far out-weigh the positive, so don't be fooled!!

I was working from home at my regular job. My husband had signed me up for this without my knowledge. The coach called and said my kit would be mailed out that same day. It took it almost 2 weeks to get here. We viewed the DVD and decided to return the kit. I e-mailed the coach to get the mailing address and it was being returned. My credit card was hit immediately for $39.95. I have returned the kit over 3 months ago and still have not received my 60 day money back guarantee. I have e-mailed the coach several times and received no response. If anyone wants to mail a kit back, mail to ONLINE BUSINESS SHIPPING, OBS, 13701 S 42ND AVE, BELLEVUE,NE 68123-6234.

OBS is nothing but a SCAM to eventually get you to sell HERBALIFE products. What a waste of $10...this is a scam and I have cxld my credit card and being issued another to avoid their charges!! my business coach John Crimmins has been nothing but unprofessional by sending me Emails from his PERSONAL cox.net Email account instead of through the OBS email (which would allow OBS to track his nasty Emails.) Save your money!!

Yes, I fell for the B.S. myself. Too bad that I hadn't seen this before, or I wouldn't have invested 9.95 for the kit. After reading of all the folks that have falling for all this, I quickly mailed back the kit, went to my bank, and turned in my debit card, and now I'll have to wait at least 2-3 weeks for my new card. If you don't do the same, who knows how much these A-holes can bilk from you. I'm 70 and am still learning. Good Luck My next step is the BBB.

I just made the decision to start OBS today but I decided to do some research about it before. I found all these comments. Thank God I didn't get into it. My coach or whatever called me a week a go and he wanted me to start so bad so I told him I will think about it before. Am very happy I found all this information about OBS. There are a lot of people who are crying and suffering like myself because they are not getting job and it is not good for OBS to take their little money they have when they decide to do the business. God doesn't like liars and if they want to keep on stealing peoples money, THE OBS WILL NEVER BE SUCCESSFUL.

Like a fool, I paid my $9.95 because the ad was on my favorite radio station. So, I'll use it as a test to verify your critiques, then provide the information to the radio station to oust this advertiser - they don't need the bad PR!
God Bless, and thank you all for taking the time to let others know this is a bad idea.
Too bad it sounds good!

I bought the start up kit for $10 because some guy emailed me that he will personally pay it back to you if you're not satisfied I emailed him twice but no response. Of course what more could you expect from scammers. and my coach Brenda Frauger still keeps emailing me after I've sent that useless package back and told her I will not continue with this so called business. I guess there really is no way to make money online it's all just scams and rip offs I hope these people get what they deserve for taking our money.

I got pointed to a supposed CNN website, that said that this was a great program and that it cost less then $3 (can't remember the exact price)for shipping and handling.
I went to the link that showed instead that shipping and handling cost almost $10 instead!
I knew something was up right then and there.
And when you try to navigate away from the website, they put you into a chat that one of those phony 'live' people, which you can tell in the first 10 sec. is actually just an automated system.
Also, the statement at the bottom of the page says that you get a 'free trial' then you will be billed for $140 dollars if you decide to keep going.
I have precious little money to spend as it is, so I can't afford to risk it on something as phony sounding as this ad.
Glad I decided to start looking around on the internet before going any further.
Damn ad scams!
And my mom did herbal life directly from the company. Not that great of a sell program anyways!
Don't get scammed and I hope you have all warned your friends as well!
They need to be able to flat out bust these things so that fewer people have the chance to fall for them.

My mother ordered,"Online Business Systems",because it was accredited by the Better Business Bureau. We watched the dvd of glorious testimonies, which left us wondering what the product was and how much and when we could get started. I said, "Ship the dvd back!", my mom called the coach anyway, and the phone number (of Christine Russell)was disconnected! Ha, so it doesn't take a Rocket Scientist to tell us that....We've Been Had Too!!!!!!

I just got thru listening to a whole bunch of testimonials about how great OBS was and how much money they were making month after month. What they failed mention is what was any info on what u needed to do or sell to make this money. So I stopped the cd and went to the net I googles obs which I should have done before I spent $9.95 an just as I felt I've been had. They got me for 10 bucks but when the coach calls back I intend to let him know thanks but no thanks.

I recently requested the Online Business Solutions started package. I read through it and watched the video and listened to the cd. I then decided to do a little research about it online. Needless to say a lot of people were saying its a scam. After you here from your coach they ask you to send in $400 to invest. Then I hear there is more money you need to send after that. I didn't even make it to where I talked to my coach and told her I was sending the package back. Then they get there cause there's no return to sender sticker where it won't cost you anything. Since I'm from Canada it cost me almost $8 to return it to my coach who wasn't even the one who sent it to me, it was shipped to me in Canada. So yes all that are wondering Online Business Solutions is a SCAM!!!!!

For the people who claim its just because we're lazy. If the company was legit they would tell us up front about the hidden costs, if they lie and try to deceive; how can you trust them. Anybody with half a brain knows that if they claim it is free and then hit you up for money after you send in for the system, knows that if they were deceptive about the cost of the system IT IS A SCAM.

Tannica from LA - do not have anything to do with this company unless you have thousands of dollars to gamble with. They tell you, this can be done with little or no money down, but that is not true. People need to be warned that this company is dishonest, and they will sell you in the fact of making your dreams come true, when all that will happen is, they will steal your money. Please be careful. I have filed a complaint with the BBB and they have begun an investigation. Save yourself money and grief, and turn away from Online Business Systems, and tell everyone else you know about this company to help them as well. Best of luck to you.

To those who are thinking of doing business with Online Business Systems, please think again. Do not listen to Joan who speaks highly of them. This is my story, and it is the truth, no hiding or deceiving. I unfortunately came across a site that said you could make fabulous money with little or no money down. This appealed to me because I am a single parent who recently lost my job. I paid $9.95 for a Decision Package and was then charged another $49.95 after 14 days. I was charged $50 for testimonials. The Decision Package has nothing to do with weeding out those who are not serious. The Decision Package is full of hype and testimonials to further pull you in. Well, I fell for it, and believed my coahes Mike and Rosie Bottai, and paid $133. down of the $399. they ask for, as well as $100.
for the website. I stayed up nightly until 3:00 am on several occasions placing ads like crazy. No one can tell me I did not work hard! Needless to say, I did not make any money and canceled the site within the 15 day trial period via email with my coaches because they were not responding to my phone calls. They finally sent me an email saying they did email me (NO, THEY DID NOT) and that I am to contact the customer service on the OBS site, and did not respond to me when I asked for my refunds of $49.95 and $133. So, I went after OBS Customer Serv and dealt via email with Pattie from the supposed Service Desk, who also does not tell you everything you need to know. They said they would respond to me within 72 hrs. They did not respond until a week later due to my barrage of emails. She tells me they did credit my account of the $100 but cannot refund the other monies, that is up to Mike and Rosie Bottai. Guess what, not only did they NOT refund my $100, but took out another $100 unauthorized, just yesterday! I have filed a complaint with the BBB and they have begun an investigation. My bank is helping in going after them for my money back. This is not an honest company. They make money from recruiting people. That is the honest truth. Once in a while, they will come across someone who wants to believe in them and will buy hundreds and thousands of dollars of their products, but as for making money with this company, you cannot make money with them unless you have spare money to gamble with. I worked very hard in trying to get my business off, did everything my coaches told me, and did not make a dime. To Joan, I am sorry but you are not honest and you know it. To Ryan from Ontario, you claim to have a bachelor's degree, but the way you speak shows otherwise. Joan and Ryan - get over yourselves. What comes around, goes around. Anyone thinking of doing business with this company, Online Business Systems, please, please think again and remember my story. This will happen to you. Be aware of the highest paid scam company; Online Business System.

I wanted to take a minute to share my thoughts on OBS. OBS is a company that makes it's money off of the packages they send out, however the real money is made in the advertising dollars. The "new" people put out "lots of advertising dollars" to start their "work from home business". They want you to purchase your leads (thru the advertising), then try to convince those leads to purchase the packages...then the advertising. There are a few people getting VERY RICH doing this, however it is quite limited. I guess it could be called a scam, however I feel it is just old fashion dishonesty! They are preying on lower income, desperate people looking to better their lives. It is really very sad...not only for those who get caught up in it and lose money, but for the founders of the company. It won't last forever!!

I also want to say a word about Herbalife. Now
that company has been in business for over 30 years, and you can make money being a Disrtibutor of their products. Also, their products are awesome! If you haven't tried them you should. I am an Independent Distributor, and I use many of the products. With the current concerns about obesity and overall wellness, the company is just doing great!!

The total shame of OBS is...they are giving Herbalife a bad name. Why Herbalife continues to allow OBS to do this kind of marketing, I will never understand. However, I will say that OBS is not the first company to drag the Herbalife name down, and as I said before, it will only last so long!!

Have a great day!

BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE.......I fell for the scam. I was told for "$399.00 the cost of the kit will generate you income." NOT!!!! I specifically asked.
You can not make money with only $399.00. They push for you to spend at lease $2000.00 thank god I didn't have to spend. It is a scam!!!! I don't think I could take someones last dollar to fill my pocket and my quota, obviously some people can take from others and tell them a bold face lie. If it wasn't a scam they would tell you up front the cost of everything. But they don't!! Do your homework research the website if you can't find info it's probably to good to be true. Herbal Life is a SCAM!!!

I too signed up for the $9.95 kit hoping there would be no other costs besides the $39.95 acceptance charge. I got the kit, talked with my coach, and found out in order to get started you must put $400 up front. If i had known this I would have never started it in the first place. There is a lot of information that they don't tell you up front. Since then I got into something that works with no hidden details...sorry herbalife

i think every one who claims to have been scammed are either lazy and didnt want to take the time and effort to invest in their future, or had a bad mentor who didnt care about helping others succeed.
yes i takes hard work yes it takes effort yes it takes some money to invest but its a hell of a lot cheaper and safer then actually renting a shop and selling a product spending copious amounts of money and probably getting no where. at the end of the day. you want facts?? there are over 2 million distributors in HERBALIFE world wide and over 60 million happy customers! and thats fact.
90% of what people read or hear is not fact only 10% is! dont whinge about your financial situation if you arnt prepared to spend a little to fix it!

Specially for Heather, in Ohio. I cannot tell if anybody here has reported Online Business Systems with the BBB, as you complained about. However, OBS claims to have an A or A+, and that seems to be right when you go from their link to the BBB site. It shows them in good standing with the BBB, but with the name "Online Business Systems-Nat'l Customer Svc Ctr" in Colorado (my credit card was charged from Canada).

If instead of using OBS' link to the BBB you actually go to http://www.bbb.org and search for "online business systems", you will find that there are many businesses with that name, but slightly different wording that are NOT ACCREDITED with the BBB. That tells me that either they have many imitators, or there something "fishy" going on where every OBS business that loses accreditation is somehow "abandoned" from having a link from OBS' webpage.... NOT GOOD.

I ordered the first $9.95 package and "tolerated" all the "look how good we are doing" messages but got the smell of the multi-level marketing and googled OBS to find out this site and others. I will not continue. I know I will not get my $9.95 back, but I am glad, after reading these reviews, that hopefully I will not be charged more for a second useless package.

Heather   ohio

One question to everyone with a negative comment. Why didn't you report them to BBB? They are a member of BBB with an A+ rating. If OBS really is a scam and you all reported it they wouldn't have an A+ rating. So as I see it maybe you all didn't research the fact first before making a decision, didn't ask the right questions. The sad part is you all are warning us and if you were really out to help others then report the OBS to BBB were the facts are true and people can see the low rating to not deal with them is the most beneficial. Is it because you all didn't know they were BBB accredited? Well that shows me lack of research on your ends and why would I listen to people that didn't research it. You can't get scam if you know the right questions to ask. Come on help were its important not on some chat group were you are "lucky" if you trip across the info.

This $9.95 that they charge you is for information, that tells you nothing. If you decided to keep it they charge the $39.95 balance and still you are told nothing.Complete waste of time, and money to find-out it is Herbalife.

steve   pittsburgh pa

This is not worth it. My personal coach knew less about the system than i did, and i know nothing about it other than dont waste your time. It costs $400 to get into, costs $60 for phone calls, costs another $1000 a month in advertising to be worthwhile. Where was all this info from the get go? And if i didnt question them about how this really worked i woulda spent $400 expecting it to be an easy advertisement method through the internet onky to realize that couldn't be more false. If you are rich and have time or are sick of your daily job then yes this may work. Otherwise, give me a break. Its not right to trick people into things and this is what OBS does. Online bullsh** ! Is it a scam? Maybe not but it def tries to make you believe it is something it is not.

3:37pm on Monday, June 7th, 2010

OBS is a complete scam!! I was looking to make a little money on the side by doing some online work, so found their site and signed up for it. I figured it was only $10, why not? Might as well give it a shot. So, I signed up for their package online. A day passed and I received a rather disconcerting phone call from a man named Vlad - a Polish dude, apparently. He could hardly speak English, and I was immediately wary. He explained to me that he was to be my "coach" and made an appointment to call me back in a few days time.

Sure enough, the next day when I checked my online bank statement, I found the $10 deduction from the Online Business Systems, plus an addition $10 deduction in Vlad's name.

I called him immediately to ask why the double charge, and he hemmed and hawed, first telling me it was a bank error, but when I didn't fall for that he went on to change his story and say that Online Business Systems wasn't supposed to charge me and that only his charge was legitimate. When I questioned him further about it, he again changed his story and said that both charges were legitimate and each for different services. So I told him I was going to cancel both of the charges, and not to bother sending me the package, because this was BS. He replied by saying the money had already been withdrawn and that I would not be able to get it back, to which I maintained that I would get it all back and that my bank provided me with protection.

I immediately called my bank to dispute the charges, and that's still pending. We'll see if I get my money back. But I had them cancel my credit card, as now that this Polish dude has my information who knows what kind of charges he's gonna try to bill from my account next.

WATCH OUT for this guy, and for this SCAM of a "company". They make a run for your money, and basically what it comes down to is that the way to "make" money in the company is by becoming a scammer yourself. So BE CAREFUL! These guys are not to be trusted!

There are all kinds of things being said on here, so I did some reading of my own. First off, for those who were stunned by the $39.95 charge, you did not read the Terms and Conditions which clearly states this. Something else to note is that you have 90 days to return the package for a refund on this amount, so use it. Online Business Systems is an Accedited business with the BBB and has been since 2003 according to the BBB site (A BBB Accredited business since 11/30/2003).

Personally I do not think people are lazy for wanting to return the package, I think this if they are not willing to work at their business or think that money is going to fall from the sky. There is no such thing as a get rich quick idea and anyone that thinks this, I have land....

Last thing has nothing to do with OBS, but the site this is on. What do you all think it is for? Another business opportunity.

I was harassed 3x a day with phone calls asking if I was ready to pay $39.95 of which I never knew about until the call. I then was called out of town for a death in the family and she continued to call my home 3x a day and numerous emails.
I asked specific questions that were never answered and told to return the packet which is useless and not informative if I decided I did not want to participate.
It claims to be a part of the BBB, but I find this hard to believe after the experience I am still dealing with.
Harassing, not free and just how many people can sell this stuff.
Is it a pyramid system?
I could never get an answer.

Hi, I wanted to update. My coach called on time and asked how things were going. I was honest and told her how upset I was and couldn't afford this. She was great. She understood and told me how to return the package. She also explained the reason for the vagueness about what its exactly about. They already know people will be automatically be turned off by herbalife. I know I started to think Amway, Marykay, SMC, Tupperware. I wouldn't have wanted to give it a try. I still think it might be great for someone who has a little to invest.
PS. They have a A+ with the BBB I checked before she called.

I wish I could rate scary. I'm a single disabled parent who was desperately trying to find a way to buy gas and food. I've been hitting the food banks for months now. And sometimes didn't have gas to go to them either. The spiel I got said the $9.95 was fully refundable and it was for Workathomecoach, not online business systems. I would like to put this to Kevin from New York..4/16/10 comment...I checked the BBB and they aren't a accredited business and they give them a grade of F and I had to use the national site of BBB. I just received this in the mail and I am unsure of whether or not to do it now and I am scared that they will take more money from me for this package that really gives me no info. The video is the same from their website and I was charged $9.95 and an additional $39.95 which I'm hoping I do not get charged the additional price.I have already been scammed once this year and I hope this won't be the second time cause I can not afford this stuff...So, Kevin what do you have to say about that huh?? And who actually has this extra money to pay out for the stuff you need and I haven't even talked to my coach yet I just read these comments so, I really hope I have not made another mistake out of desperation.

Scam or no Scam I am not interested in an MLM. It seems as though they have deceptive business practices. Why not be honest up front, it's like they lure innocent people into this and it ends up being nothing like it was explained. A business minded person knows there must be some kind of investment as well as hard work to make money. So why not tell the truth about the thousands of dollars it takes to make money in this business. You will weed out the people that are not serious about being a business owner if you tell the truth.
I don’t necessarily think it’s a scam but they are not telling the complete truth up front about how much it really takes to be successful.

Kevin, your comments are interesting. You mention potential income, and how much money the parent company makes. How about some information people can actually use? How many OBS distributors are there? How many are NETTING 6 figures annually? Net is what matters in this sort of program. You can gross a million dollars a year, but if your costs are $990,000, you net only $10,000. What's the average NET income of OBS distributors?

Also, it seems ingenuous for OBS to assume that anyone can sell their product. Some people can sell ice to penguins, some can't sell cold water in the desert. All the bright prospects seem to be built on bad assumptions. How about some real facts and figures?

This company is nothing but a SCAM . Fake names supposedly living in your town sadly you dont realize some towns are so small you know everyone and even know when a guest is visiting !

What a joke and Ty to all that put this site here I just saved a friend from making the worst mistake of her life .

My girlfriend at least paid through PayPal so they can not take anymore money off of her and she is returning the package in the morning!

Sad its a scam to hurt those that need money more than ever and to those saying they are making money are a joke and need to keep the scam going to make your money back!

I truly feel sorry for all the angry, bitter people who have posted comments here. Those who are serious about having a REAL online business with REAL multiple 6 and 7 figure income potential are nothing but blown away at how amazing Online Business Systems is. After working thru the ups and down, I reached a PASSIVE income level of over 10k a month after just 1 1/2 years. Yes, it took being open. Yes, it took having the understanding that paying $40 for some good intro material AS WELL AS taking another's time to explain to me what this business was, was absolutely fair. (In case you've never heard the phrase, now is a good time to learn this: Time Is Money.)

Yes, to make the income I now make, it took investment. Yes, it took being willing to learn from those who were already successful AND willing to work.

Just as importantly, it also took ignoring the many negative people like so many on this site. Many people are, unfortunately like most of you: jump to conclusions, want a JOB instead of a BUSINESS, not willing to do better research (OBS has an A+ rating with the BBB and Herbalife is a public company in over 70 countries with annual sales of over $4 BILLION), think everyone is out to rip you off, not willing to think RATIONALLY and certainly not able to understand the mindset needed to be a SUCCESSFUL online business owner.

However, there ARE people like me and like my mentors and like the many growing business partners on my team who recognize a simply phenomenal online system when they see it. I've done tons of research and there is simply nothng out there that comes even close to the quality of this amazing opportunity available with Online Business Systems.

Thank you soo much for your posts. I have the info packet and kept the packet with a return address. I really appreciate the heads up. In this economy it is so hard for many of us to make it let alone singing up for an expensive "business opportunity."
Here is the address that is on my packet:

L&R Property Investments Inc.

Kennewick WA 99337-2307
I hope this helps everyone!!!

For those who are looking into this is such a scam and is horrible that people on talk radio shows actually recommend doing this!

To whom it may concern. I can't believe the way you people use the word scam. This is a business opportunity. As with starting any business you are taking a risk.Do you really think just because you stsrt a business it is going to be successful? WOW!!! Grow up. I have been doing it for 2 months and am not having the greatest of success yet, but I am not blaming that on anyone else or labeling it a scam. If you started a restaurant and went under, who would you blame? Does that mean the restaurant business is a scam? COME ON!! There are many highly successful people in online business systems laughing at you. You people need to get an hourly job working for someone else. Starting a business is a risk you take and it does take an investment. DUH! This is America. That's what it's all about. Stop crying!!!

To follow up with what Karen said about canceling the CC. Now if you're changing the number as in telling your CC Company that it's been compromised in some situations the charge may still get through. I work for a CC and even on cards where the number was changed charges will go through because they were previously authorized. So if you go that route be sure you let your CC know so they can put the proper blocks on your card to prevent the company from charging.

We do that because people will pay every bill on their card for the rewards program and if they forget to tell the Cable company the new card number we don't want their service disconnected so the company can still bill under the old number.

So even if you call to change the number the company can still get the rest of it because it was previously authorized.

I agree with what William said and use a Debit Card that you have to load money on that's *separate* from your bank account. I have a Western Union Debit card when I'm looking into things that I think might be a mess to cancel or might be some other issue. Most allow to load as low as $20-30 the one I have doesn't have a monthly fee but charges $0.99 per transaction. Then if I'm satisfied I'll change the billing to a credit card.

I did try this years ago but quit because they expected me to be on the phone darn near 24/7. Yes I want to do a business and know that there's work involved *however* there were some nights that I had other priorities and the "coaches" were a real PITA over that.

I keep reading the same complaints over and over again: 'It cost me $xx dollars just to get started!'

Wel, what kind of business doesn't require a financial investment from its owner? This isn't an salaried position, it's self-employment.

The support you receive in coaching and marketing advice is totally worth the investment if you use it to build your own business.

Bottom line is, self employment isn't for everyone, but for anyone serious about starting their own business Online Business Systems works.

Unfortunately I found this site two days too late, I have ordered the packet for the 9.95 and haven't even received it yet but now that I've found this site, I will be canceling my card tomorrow, and will refuse the package when it comes. I lost a lot of money in "Business Opportunities" like this some 15 or more yrs ago before learning to NEVER pay for a "job" however when i seen this, my first thought was 9.95 isn't bad, until i read all these posts so thank you all for sharing your experiences.

I do want to say that there are work at home JOBS out there that are very legit i've worked for a couple of them and will tell you like i did everyone i've known since don't ever pay for a "job" I just wasn't using my head and didn't pay attention that it was a "business opportunity" instead of an actual job. I created a list of companies that have legitimate jobs I think i'll just stick with what I know to be the tried and true because there are MANY of them out there.

I have finished reading through all these comments and am wondering something. How come so many people are claiming they got scammed? You say that the decision package is just full of hype, but then you say that you bought into the business. Sorry, but that does not make sense to me. You were "forced" or talked into spending money to get to the supervisor level. Was that not your choice?

Yes I am proud to be part of Online Business Systems and have been for some time. I made the choice to "DO" the business and not just try. You try a new food, you try a new soap, you try a new drink, but you do not try a business. You either put your full effort in or don't do it at all. I am not earning the kind of money that my mentors are - and by the way Shawn Dahl and Deb Pegani are definitely not scammers and anyone that has met them can tell you the same - but I do make enough to maintain my family of 4 kids in a comfortable means. I WILL be earning the good money soon though.

As for the Herbalife products, they are incredible. They work wonderfully, however as with everything, they have to be taken properly to be effective. You cannot just have what you want when you feel like it and see results.

Bottom line of what I am saying is for you to stop blaming someone else for something that you had control over. It was your choice, and if you made the decision to get involved, then you should have done what it took to be successful - PERIOD!

First, when you order something like this, DO NOT use a credit card or debit card. Go to Walmart and purchase a Walmart Money card (same as a debit card). Minimum amount is $20.00 plus $3.00 fee.

You then have $20 available credit. Use this card to purchase the $9.95 "kit" which will reduce your card's remaining balance to about $10.00. Use this remaining available balance to buy a couple of beers or something so that your Walmart card only has about a $1.00 available credit, and can't be "hit" for "small print" charges.

You will need to register the Walmart card on line using your SSN or ID, but that is limited exposure. You can then opt for a daily email update from Walmart on your card's remaining available balance.

After about 10 days, Walmart will send you a "permanent" card with you name on it that replaces your temporary card. You can cancel this permanent card at anytime by purchasing a new WalMart card, which is not linked to the previous card, so you are safe from scammers.

I'm a CPA and successful businessman, so I know what I'm talking about. Years ago, I helped designed MLM structures and software. To say the least, I have paid my dues.

NOW, having said the foregoing, let me tell you that you CAN make money from this deal, and honestly, by telling people the truth: It's basically a pyramid scheme that stays legal because it sells real products (forget the rah rah stuff about how GREAT the products are, BUT, they ARE real products, of course with a very low cost of production that enables huge payouts for selling commissions.)

Feel free to contact me for additional comments at jwgodshall@aol.com. Use "Good to hear from you" in your email subject line; I'll search my spam box for emails from you.

Meanwhile, if you want to roll the dice and see if you can make money at this scheme (and they ARE people making money, especially in these bad economic times when brick and mortar jobs are simply not available) try it for the $300 AFTER you pay the up front $9.95.

Your "supervisor" uses your initial $9.95 purchase to see how serious you re: the "workbook" is pretty much a joke that tells you little nitty gritty about how the deal actually works.

And of course you'll see testimonials ad nauseam from Bubba and Suzie about how they finally got out of debt and are now living their dreams and spending more time at home with their little tykes.

If you decide to go for the $300 bucks buyin, go back to Walmart and "load your card" with the $300 you need to buy into the MLM deal. NEVER use a credit card on a real bank card (debit card).

DO NOT buy in ("invest" is the euphemism of choice) at "the supervisor level" which will cost you about $3 grand. Try the deal for as little as possible. At the lowest level ($300) you get about a 25% commission; at the "supervisor level you'll get about a 50% commission. Try it at 25% first. Remember, 25% of something is better than 50% of nothing!

I see a lot of people here looking to make money quickly online. As someone here said - This is a business opportunity.

I personally do not know any business owner that receives a return on their initial investment as fast as this type does. I joined a while ago knowing that I was responsible for my success, and have made money ever since. I trusted what I saw was working for those that came before me and followed what they were doing. Sure it cost me, however I did make my entire investment back within six months. Not sure about you, but a 42% return on my investment that quick is quite incredible.

As for them hiding what it is you would be doing, what I have to say is that you must not have read through everything as it does state they are affiliated with Herbalife on the front page. Knowing this, I check into them as well and found a lot of good things that this company does.

Do not get me wrong. This type of business is not for everyone. Anyone can do the business, but not everyone is capable. It takes a lot of hard work and only a minority few that make it to the big bucks, however you can make a comfortable living with this business.

well i found this site too late, i already paid the $9.95 then had the pleasure of speaking with my coach who then took another $449 from my account. The information she was given me was a load of rubbish so i decided to look into it a bit more (which is what i should have done in the first place )and i came across this site, so i immediately canceled my bank card and when the postman tried to deliver this box of herbalife products i just refused to accept them off him. I then contact my coach and tell her that i didnt accept the goods from the postman and that i want a refund, she takes a while to reply but then tells me she has refunded my card, but not the full amount i had paid, I then tell her the card had been canceled and she would have to refund my new card which she will not do. I have phoned the bank and they have told me that she can refund my old card and that she needs to give me a reference number for the fraud team. She has emailed saying she will not deal with me anymore she would prefer to deal with the bank, what a load of s**t, will i get my money back, i have no idea but im so glad i found this site.

Someone from OBS contacted me told me how much money I could make sent me a package but didn't tell me what I was supposed to do and I specifically said I didnt want to sale anything to anyone. So I bought it and there went my money down the drain almost $400. I was mad called the my coach and just like everyone else didn't get anywhere and didnt get my money back. This is not an "Employment Opportunity", it is an opportunity TO RUN YOUR OWN BUSINESS so yes it requires an upfront investment. You don't obtain an A+ Rating with the BBB by being "shady". Yes it is difficult to get going, and might take a leap of faith but this system is definitely NOT a scam. There are A LOT of scams out there but this one is not. Shame on all of you who give OBS a bad name and prevent interested people from giving it a shot, they might have been very successful at it. Yes I understand the frustration that some of you have against scams (as i do as well) but please direct it at those people who run scams. Online Business Systems is not one of them. If you're not willing to pay $39.99 for information that might let you earn thousands of dollars, yeah I'd say that's a pretty good investment.

I registered for the package for 19.95 online at HTTP://myobspack.com. It took almost 2 weeks for it to arrive in the mail and the coach only called 1 time 3 days before it arrived. I haven't returned it yet but will tomorrow. The thing was almost a joke to me. I already had questions because it was nothing but a bunch of "HYPE" and "Sales Pitch". It took me 4 tries by E-mail and 2 phone calls to my coach and then she had the excuse "I have been confused and lost your mail and contacts"! DA! is this what anyone wants to here??.

I started asking about the system and Herbal Life and she played a recording that was more hype and sales asking for up to $399.00 for the "TOTAL" package. I picked it apart and asked about "hidden or Rank fees". She told me that there was no rank but that I would have an annual renewal fee, Advertising cost, mandatory product cost that would be shipped auto ETC. ETC. that came to around another $2000,00 if I really wanted to make money!!

As for everyone trying to return the package.. It is dropped shipped for each coach and the only return addr. available it the coach you deal with so good luck!! I expect to loose the $34.95 charge, + the $19.95 Registration, + Another almost 15.00 it will cost to ship it back registered with a return receipt. I suggest everyone do this for returns. It will provide validation so you can file a complaint with your "State District Atty's. office" and to the "Federal Trade Commission". The URL for the FTC is HTTP://www.ftc.gov . You can also find this direct link on my website at shopersclub. My site is a registered member with the FTC and I urge everyone who gets stiffed to report it!!!!

Hope this helps anyone to recover. It isn't just the loss of the $50.00 or so that is bad. It is the total "Bait" to "Buy" more and more! Let's face it PPL who are looking for a "part time income DO NOT have $2000.00 +++ to shell out!!
You will see several links to quality family safe sites on my website but You will never see one of these!!!!!!!!

In these days and times people don't have time for scams nor the time it takes to try and retrieve what was so wrongly taken from you. It's not like you can take your receipt and merchandise to the store and get you money back if you choose, you have to email, submit, draft, and argue, show an prove, by the time you receive your money your 5lbs lighter but ready for the psych-ward. The paid package system is a screening process to weed out people that simply aren't very serious about building a home based business. We just don't have time to invest with every single tire kicker that comes along. We only work with serious people. The $9 is to pay for the shipping to get the materials to you. We shouldn't pay for your free shipping, as well as, buy you a free DVD. Anything of value costs something. The $30 is charged to anyone NOT RETURNING the DVD to us. Leads (people that suggest an interest in working from home)cost money. We don't make money selling information. We make money helping people get healthy and for teaching others how to do the same for people outside our personal reach. Anyone expecting to get a check in the mail because they ordered a DVD is simply not thinking clearly.

Why in the WORLD would they do this to innocent people? Do they have no conscience at all? We all need money to survive, but when it gets to the point where it is at the cost of a human life... is it worth it to them?

I am so disgusted I almost fell for this. I have two children and will be newly married in a week and half. We have not been able to eat for the past two weeks. My fiance works his ASS off every day, with a smile on his face, for that raise that will never come. We are honest people who actually care. She said she was only looking for people who really wanted to make serious money at home or some crap like that. I ain't no dummy so, when she avoided my questions I said hell no gotta be a scam. She tried to tell me she makes $20,000.00 a month doing this business. I guess she's pretty good at scamming but I ain't gonna scam other people cause unlike them I have morals and ethics. Besides $39.95 for some DVD,CD ROM and a retarded booklet nope not worth it. You can get setup in other businesses for that and get yourself a dealers kit right from the jump not not have to spend huge amounts of money for some useless products.

I had recently been looking for an online business and discovered something called Online Business Systems. A rep for the company called and extolled the benefits of the company and told me her testimonial of her experience. I had ordered the information package at the shipping and handling price of $9.99. I had done this with my credit card number. She told me that I had fifteen days to look it over and return it if I am not satisfied. A couple of days ago I had received the package . The information was very vague and didn't tell me much about anything so I started a research on the internet and found out that this whole thing was about Herbalife and selling it and also how people lost their hard- earned savings by trying to go into this sort of thing. I immediately called my bank and had a stop put on my account from this rep that had called me, I also sent back the lame information that was sent to me. I also want to add that when I had visited these sites that told me about the company there was always a link on these sites for another marketing outfit that claimed to be legitimate. Its all hogwash don't fall for it

I am grateful to see that so many people have tried the OBS or the MLM scams that are being advertised. It's no wonder there is no one in the Tallahassee area trying out the program. I ordered the $9.95 pkg. and its the very same one that you have for the $39.95 that has recently been offered. Sorry to disappoint any of you. I think that its only fair that you know, sooner or later you will find out.

I was looking at their info online. I was going to just wait until I could just do my research online about their company since you can not tell much from their name. Then a chat window came up when I was closing. I did the chat with the rep online and when I directly asked if it was MLM they ignored the question completely. Went straight to other so called incentives to get me to buy the package. So I tried again and actually spelled out what MLM was in case the person on the other end was so dense as to not know that MLM means Mult-Level Marketing. Again, they ignored the questions. I said that since they felt the need to hide information about their company, goodbye. Then I did the research and found this site. Thanks for all the comments. About what I expected. Sorry you all had to find out the hard way. The only ones who make money in MLM are the ones on top levels which means you have to get people to come in under you. Doing the same to them that was done to you....Sad.

Online Business Systems is defenitely a scam. Do not waste your money. I paid the $9.00 for the kit and returned it the next day, only to have my credit card charged the $39.95 about a month and a half later. I too was told that the package was returned damaged??? This whole scheme should be illegal, and I hardly believe these mother#$%@/#$ are accredited by the Better Business Bureau. So, if you're an idiot like me and you pay the $9.00 for their stupid kit and then realize it's nothing but a bunch of horse#%$@, make sure to immediately put a hold on your credit card before they have a chance to charge the $39.95 for the "damaged kit".

I heard about this on Sean Hannity. I thought he was trustworthy so I checked it out. The info packet is basically nothing. I could have seen that stuff on-line for free. I decided to see if OBS had a website and found this. I am glad to hear it is Herballife, now I know to send this packet back immediately because I got duped into buying herballife before and sent it all back. Funny how there advertising has changed since then, they can reel in the same people more than once. I am going to report them to the BBB because supposedly they are members.

To those who comment that I have "scammed" and for a long time, you are very wrong and have no experience with me. I ordered the program and spent money just like you. For a short period I recruited as part of the program, and give 100% accurate information as known at the time. I stopped recruiting as I believe the small percentage of success, as quoted by Herbalife upfront, to be true. I also experienced frustration with people not available for training. Recruitments who decided early not to continue, were refunded. It was my choice to invest & try this business - so blame for any loss is mine. My upline coaches were successful and to my knowledge still make a reasonable monthly income, but they invest continuously & work many hours that I chose not to do. I still buy & sell the products as I truly believe, from personal & family experience, they perform as published. My customers get a complete print out of label and product description with each new item ordered & get a 30-day guarantee - full refund or exchange - thier choice. Shame on those who felt it was necessary to use my name to satisfy your dissatisfaction with a choice you made. This site was brought to my attention by a party considering the business - not random checking for comments!

Yea I started down this road also. But I've done AMWAY years ago. Not a bad job if you are a salesman, "I'm not."

Because of that I kind of recognized the pitch. And told them I was looking for an income not an outgo.

Maybe someday I will find the American Dream.

CD's tell you nothing. It's all HYPE. The only people getting money are the top people who run the Scam.

I would like to go after these people and sue the hell out of them These people Shawn Dahl Glen Kirkpatrick Deb Pagani are all con artists. There is no way you can make money with them. I would love to sue the hell out of them. Herbalife is actually a fantastic company. It parasites like Shawn Dahl And Deb Pagani who need to be found and taken to jail.
It's a very elaborate scheme. Be afraid!

I bought into Herbalife when I moved to SC and there were no employment opportunities in the area. Since my husband's job tends to move us we both thought having an online business that I could take with me would be great. The pitch sounded good and although we had looked at other MLMs in the past and ran we thought maybe this once... my coach got me to spend over $2,000 in product to become a "supervisor" and get 50% off all my orders... great now what? I'll tell you what! AT LEAST $1200 a month for leads, paying to be able to run credit cards, paying to go to "training seminars", paying for a new phone line... wait, I told you I wasn't employed right? I wasn't told the online part of my business was going to cost so much until AFTER I had spent over 2 grand. Now I'm stuck in a small town with a 13% unemployment rate with $100 boxes of shakes. Thanks Herbalife

Ha ha, what a drab scheme. Herba Life was a scam 6 years ago when my wife tried it, investing thousands and all her time only to make nothing out of it. Well she may have made 20 or 30 bucks, but not even close to what they claim for what she put into it. You know it's a scam if they have to front it under a different name and refuse to tell you what it really is. HerbalLife, you still suck. How many people you gonna take advantage of before filling your bad karma quota.

Yea. This is definitely a scam. If it wasn't a scam, then why can't they tell you its HERBAL LIFE right from the start. Don't fall victim. Im getting my 9.95 back. This is BS. It's sad to know that when you are most desperate is when people will be able to take advantage of you. I am trying to provide a better life for my family and these scumbags are just taking advantage of that desperation. Screw Herbal Life and everything they stand for.
