MakeMoneyTakingSurveys Review: Is Make
Money Taking Surveys a Scam...?
MakeMoneyTakingSurveys.org
by Lauren Mitchell is the latest site
promising to show you, as the name suggests,
how to make money taking surveys. This
site is being heavily promoted across the
net and most people have already seen ads
for it popping up in their email boxes.
The problem with many online survey products is that they've gotten a bad rap
through some very bad seeds in the industry. The truth is that there are
legitimate online survey companies that pay their members regularly for
market research participation, however for every "good guy" there's a bogus
site waiting to waste your time with unattainable surveys and paid offers.
So is Make Money Taking Surveys Legit or Just Another Scam
Site...?
In my experience I've found very few legitimate sources for real online
surveys so after I paid the entrance fee I was really anxious to get started.
Here's what I found inside...
What you get is a list of close to 200 hundred companies that offer you
some form of reward, either cash or prizes for participation in market research.
Now to be clear MakeMoneyTakingSurveys.org is not a research company itself and
provide no surveys of their own.
They've simply compiled a list of details and descriptions of
the most prominent online market research companies. Their list is
comprised of 4 sections: Survey Database, Paid to Read emails, Paid to Shop, and
Paid to Drive Your Car.
In that list there is only one section even worth looking at and that's the
survey database. The rest are a complete waste of time: Getting paid to
read emails pays an absurdly miniscule amount equating to pennies for hours of
work, mystery shopping is hit or miss, and getting paid to drive your car is a
pipe dream purported by those selling these manuals.
Do I Recommend MakeMoneyTakingSurveys.org...?
When I was going through the large list of survey companies I realized that
I've already come across most of these while doing research on online
surveys. I immediately recognized the popular ones yet in the
list of 200 there were obviously some that I've never heard of.
So to answer the original question I would say that this product is meant for
an internet newbie, someone who's had no luck finding legitimate survey
companies on their own. If you're someone who's already done the research
and have found a long list of market research companies then you do not need
this product.
On the other hand if you're someone who's looking for legitimate survey
companies but don't want to pay money upfront you still have options and you can
get what you want without spending a dime.
Take a look at our list of
Free Paid
Online Surveys.
Two Tips For Success...
To ensure your success taking Free Surveys I wanted to give you a
couple quick tips.
(1) Before you start signing up with all these research
companies register a new email account, you can get a free one from Yahoo or
Hotmail. This will help keep you organized and will protect your private
email account from advertiser's emails.
(2) The way that surveys work is that a market research firm gets
commissioned by a company to gather data through surveys. The company
provides a list of demographics for the people that they want the survey to go
out to and the survey sites scan their database for matching members.
This means that not every survey is going to match your profile and the way
to ensure that you make the most money is to sign up for all the survey sites in
our list, that way you increase your chances of being selected for surveys.
Again here's the list of
Free Paid
Online Surveys to get you started.

Joann San Diego | 11:25pm on Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009 | So glad I thought to google this and find that people are not seeming to get their money back when they try to take advantage of the "guarantee" time line. I think what is true for most of us is that we just want to help make ends meet, not believing for a minute that we're going to get rich from it. Sad to see that someone worked for 18 hours on surveys and only accumulated $5.35 so far! WOW! |
todd ct | 5:34pm on Saturday, September 12th, 2009 | Yea, MakeMoneyTakingSurveys.org got me but for only 17 bucks but that's only cause I'm Cheap they wanted 39 to join but then offered it for 17. After I joined they wanted me to up grade for 67 dollars. That's when I thought more about it. I began to follow thru on thier program of three steps which I began, then when I clicked to open the next page it sent me back to a google search.Thats when I knew for sure!! haven't been able to log back in since, been about 3-4 hours now.Guess I ask for a refund.Doubt I'll get one. Lauren Mitchell sucks! |
Dan Minnesota | 2:57pm on Wednesday, September 9th, 2009 | Contact info was clearly presented in my offer and it had a full disclaimer. "these represent some examples of customers not the typical success". I tried to navigate away and got a better offer as stated above. $7 for the list seems a very fair price to me. |

Debbie Milwaukee, WI | 5:28pm on Saturday, July 4th, 2009 | I want to thank you for this website. I too was thinking of signing up and forking over the cash. Than I thought wait, lets try customer complaints on this company and nothing came up. I was thinking wow, this might be legit. Than I decided to surf the net for any and all info on this company. I found your site and an very thankful and grateful for it. I hope other people follow my example before investing their hard earned money on this scam. |
michael raeford ,nc | 2:24pm on Tuesday, June 16th, 2009 | I almost bit this hook, line and sinker, but after reading what was on your site,I spit it out and saved my MONEY!!!! Thank YOU,THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!!!!!!!!! I have been scammed before, but not this time THANKS AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Kari Oliver Tennessee | 7:43pm on Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009 | I was stupid. I just feel like there is something out there that will work for me. I don't want to get rich, I just want to supplement my income a little until my and my husbands work situation gets a little better. I requested a refund from Makingmoneytakingsurveys.com a few days ago through their website. Hopefully it will happen. |
silvia indonesia | 10:14pm on Friday, May 29th, 2009 | thanks a lot for reminding me about it & for saved my money from this Scam site...once again..thnks a lot ;) |
Emily Lebanon, MO | 9:58pm on Wednesday, May 27th, 2009 | As you've already said (Boy, I wish I'd found this coverage BEFORE I paid money for this company's list of companies...), it's hours of work and research only to make pennies. I have put in over 18 hours and have totaled $5.85. And $5 of that total was for signing up! Then it tells me I have to earn $30 before I can receive a check. This time next year? Crazy - and a complete waste of time and money. Definitely a scam. Perhaps this company (Makingmoneytakingsurveys.org) can get by with it because they are simply selling the database company names, but they are still scamming by promising you'll make money from these surveys when most of them will take you so far - wasting your time and stealing your information - only to say you do not qualify for this survey. SCAM! |
Ozay Australia | 10:16am on Friday, May 15th, 2009 | I purchased this thinking it was going to be different to all the other ones I'd seen, after all, like you said, their site is popping up everywhere and they offer a 2 month guarantee right? WRONG. I have since reported them to Consumer affairs and still haven't got my money back $84 may not seem much but it is when You don't have that much to spare.
Like yourself, I'm not a newbie, I found that it wasn't what I thought it was going to be like. I mean, I'd already signed up for many others pretty much the same as this one. Within a day or two of purchasing this, I decided that I'd get my money back. No replies to any of my emails because they're bogus too. The Phone Numbers they supply you, in the contact us are not even listed. The contact us direct message doesn't even acknowledge that it has been sent.
Over all Very Disappointing and if you're anticipating in getting your money back, don't bother to sign up for this one. |
sandra bullock CA | 5:55pm on Thursday, May 14th, 2009 | fraud!! |
Tiffany Dallas | 6:17am on Wednesday, May 13th, 2009 | I almost signed up to makemoneytakingsurveys.org, but before I did, the website asked for my name, email, and phone number. Just to see if there was "openings in my area", it never asked for a zipcode, state, or even an address!!! So I put all the info in. Then it came up that there was "two" openings in my area! How could that even be true? I live in Dallas, TX and I have a Tennessee phone number. So I knew the site was to good to be true! But thanks for posting this, it did help!!! |
Olga S NZ | 11:11pm on Sunday, May 10th, 2009 | Thanks a lot for the info!! |
sal castellanos riverside | 6:47pm on Monday, May 4th, 2009 | THEY ARE FRAUD !!!! SCREW ALL OF THEM |
ec new jersey | 3:03pm on Saturday, May 2nd, 2009 | thank you so much for giving us these reviews. I almost fell in to sign up and that I figure to check all the comments and thank God, you save me from saving my money from this dishonest scheme. |
Tara Ontario, Canada | 3:58pm on Friday, May 1st, 2009 | Thanks SO much for this info. I can't really work since being disabled in an accident 4+ years ago, so I've been searching (and getting scammed) for a long time. Guess I keep hoping that someday, somehow, I'll find a legit way to support myself/earn some money. This one ALMOST got me, if not for what everyone took the time to write here! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!! |
Lisa Columbus GA | 7:31pm on Wednesday, April 29th, 2009 | Be careful about some of the reviews scattered all over the internet for this site that claim 'I thought this was a scam but I'm really making money'. Most of these 'reviews' have some of the same verbiage, and nearly all provide a link back to the website, some with those annoying windows when you try to close down. Smells like a rat to me.
Thanks to everyone for their helpful feedback. I hope more people find this page before they get taken in. If you have a web page or a blog, link to this page. It helps to boost its google ranking... =) |
Karen Urate Calgary | 1:00am on Monday, April 27th, 2009 | Whew. Thanks for this. I nearly fell for this one. I think dreaming about earning good money, IF NOT FOR FUN, is hopeless. LEGITIMATE SURVEY SITES ARE EITHER FREE (meaning, small money) OR JUST GIVING PRIZES/REWARDS. Most fast food storefront crews here in my country (or city rather) who work their butt and minds off and get bloody tired every single day of work only get paid 9.50 to 12.00 an hour. Companies are not that dumb to pay you that much just for giving your opinions to them. They sometimes get most of it for free. Customers in person are generous enough to give it to them; sometimes rudely, sometimes kindly, but FREE. |
lisa Los Angeles | 11:23am on Thursday, April 23rd, 2009 | Make Money Taking Surveys sucks,This program is dreadful... |
Dan MN | 12:13am on Friday, April 17th, 2009 | I didn't buy this. But if you try to navigate away from the page twice, hitting cancel each time, first it will lower the price to $17.00 and the second time it will lower $7.00. If you are really curious I guess $7 isn't that bad. |
Larry Wulf New Richmond, WI | 11:07am on Thursday, April 9th, 2009 | I recently did get into the MakeMoneyTakingSurveys. I did a little checking calling up the company name... I did get in and bought the package... send a 'contact us' email out and asked for the city and state location so I could check this company out with the better business bureau.... also the cost of their suggested 'form' package. No response back after 4 days. And I sent another email out a little stronger this time. Does anyone know how to turn a company into the BBB without both the city and state identifier? I am going to do some checking on how to do this ... and get some information out to all those looking for legitimate ways to make money and keep from running into these scam artists. I will start writing letters to my congress people asking for a government sponsored ways to rate companies doing business on the internet and prosecuting those who are constantly doing false advertising. If this was a local company in my town and they made these claims and constantly did not produce... they would be prosecuted... why not these internet cheats. If all those people out of work looking for work and trying the internet and seeing a government supported rating to verify these companies and know that a company would not be worth looking into... more legitimate companies would be using the internet to do business with workers looking for legitimate ways of making money and it would help all us looking for work on the internet to more quickly go to the good companies and get involved with them. |
Amy Waco | 2:02am on Thursday, April 9th, 2009 | Thank you so much for the info. I currently am looking for a job and am trying to find ways to make some money while I'm waiting for employment and was about to sign up. You have saved me 40 dollars that I obviously can't afford to spend. I have 2 kids to take care of and every penny counts! Thanks again |
DE Salt Lake City | 3:39am on Wednesday, April 8th, 2009 | Thank you for the info. They have started to advertise this "job opportunity" frequently on late night TV, and I must admit, it sounds tempting. I'm glad I took the time to investigate instead of just jumping in and hoping for the best. |
Caroline South Africa | 3:05am on Monday, April 6th, 2009 | I stay in South Africa everytime I try to take a survey it kicks me out, cause is nit available in my area. Please help maybe I am doing the wrong thing. |
Cameron Austin, tex | 3:15pm on Tuesday, March 31st, 2009 | I had actually fallen for this scam. Like the above poster I came across the Brent Austin Top 3 scam free work at home programs. Looked at all three which all had the same type of internet page. But still fell for the makemoneytakingsurveys.org program it just seem to good to be true. I forked over the nearly $40. Once I got started it just seemed shady after every click of the mouse. First off my sign-in username and password for the site just seemed generic as if they give everyone. Then once I got to the main member page all it is, is a bunch of links. So I paid nearly $40 for a internet link page. They tell you to join all the sites for more a better chance a getting money. Once I did that I noticed the majority of the survey were only worth .25 to .50 cents a survey, and can't receive any money til you get over $100 by taking surveys. But there so many sites that do this so why would I want different links that do the same thing but usually pay differently. After realizing this just a big scam I immediately tried to get a refund. The site promises a full refund if not satisfied the first 8 months. But there was no phone number on the main site(very shady) so I emailed them but no response. Luckily I paid via paypal so I contacted paypal and they gave me the number to Clickbank. I was confirmed a refund. If anyone has been taken a fool by this I suggest contacting Clickbank at 1-800-390-6035. Remember to do extensive research before purchasing anything like this. I just wish I came across this site sooner and not have fallen for this scam. I just fell sorry for the other unlucky people who might of bought this or paid with a credit card if any thing use paypal it could save you money and a headache. Thank you and good luck. |
Joanna Idaho | 1:24pm on Saturday, March 28th, 2009 | This company is A joke - PLEASE< PLEASE< PLEASE always check the Better Business bureau before doing any online job. I got Absolutely nothing from this company other than being out the 35.00.
No product, lists and no return emails or phone calls line was busy 99% of the time. Call me a SUCKER! |
Kathleen Zinner Beauregard Wy | 1:06pm on Wednesday, March 25th, 2009 | I am not happy at all with make money taking surveys because for all my hard work and efforts of last week I have not made any money at all. I got a phone call from this man on Monday 3-23-09 & he said that he wanted to talk to my husband & I yesterday about becoming financially independent & the man never called back when he was supposed to. Also with pay pal just about 2 weeks ago I paid $17.00 to makemoneytakingsurveys & the next day they called me & wanted my bank card number because the woman said that she had no proof that I had paid the $17.00 on pay pal on the internet. Now I feel that I have been ripped off of $34.00 & I am completely dissatisfied altogether with makemoneytaking surveys.org. |
Nancy Montana | 3:33pm on Friday, March 20th, 2009 | I have posted a comment on another topic yesterday that was the Brent Austin program. These are all in this scam together. I signed up on makemoneytakingsurveys.org and the phone call started about 2 weeks later or a little longer. I believed it was in regards to the survey business. It had nothing to do with surveys. In a hard way I found out it is a scam to get you signed up for internet coaching. I have received calls from ICI Coaching, with this Lauren Mitchell course, also Ivy Capital and other numbers. They all end up back with the same main number. I am still trying to get some of my money back. I will never sign up for anything again, ever... bad deal all the way around...Don't do it!!! |
dc wyoming | 11:51pm on Sunday, March 15th, 2009 | Thanks for reminding me about why you pay for work up front. If a website promises you legit work, you shouldn't have to pay for it. |
J Houston | 8:01pm on Friday, February 27th, 2009 | thanks for saving me money, time, and a lot of frustration |
yael culver city | 12:14pm on Thursday, February 26th, 2009 | thank you you saved me money |
b Location unknown | 11:15pm on Thursday, January 29th, 2009 | i have not yet signed up with any survey programs because there are so many of them, and i tend to get confused about who is good and who is not. i am glad i found your site and reviews, and i appreciate your detailed explanations of online money-making do's and dont's. i found this review currently helpful, since i was seriously considering signing up with them. i do not want the other programs they offer, only the surveys. thank you. |
dean north carolina | 9:24am on Saturday, October 18th, 2008 | is a scam and a bunch of crap i just hope people don't get suckered in and send in their credit card info there should be a law stopping these kind of scams shouldn't in be considered fraud? but with so much fraud in the world today even in our government and public officials and values of truth and honesty being pushed aside it has become a sad thing people taking advantage of other ones trying and hoping to come upon some way to make some extra cash. It just a sign of the times that every one will become either buyers or sellers it is slowly but surely going that way and fulfilling the proficy of the end of time and the scam and fraud companies are helping in come to pass whether they know it o not. |
