LightSpeed Panel

LightSpeed Panel is an online consumer research tool owned by LightSpeed Research a subsidiary of WPP, a world wide communications group.  Since 1999 they've been conducting market research for a wide variety of global companies representing an assortment of industries.

The LightSpeed Panel is a research tool that allows companies to gather feedback from consumers in exchange for cash and prize rewards.  Currently the opportunity is available to residents of the US, Canada, UK, and Australia.  As with most online survey providers members must be at least 18 years old.

The average payout for a LightSpeed Panel survey is very competitive, ranging between $3-$11 based on the survey depth.  You get rewarded with LightSpeed points which can later be redeemed for cash or prizes.  As of now 1 dollar is equivalent to approximately 115 points.

All this information will be provided to you in the members area along with your LightSpeed Panel profile, survey invites, mini polls, and quick match surveys.  In order to receive the maximum amount of surveys you should fill out all fields in your profile and complete some of the quick match surveys.

One of the best features about the LightSpeed Consumer Panel is in their cash out process.  Your LightSpeed account is linked to your PayPal account which means that you will be paid one business day after you convert your points to cash.  This really sets LightSpeed apart from other survey providers who make members wait several weeks for checks.

Another thing that LightSpeed Panel members have been pleased with is the frequency of surveys.  Many people that I've spoken to have stated that they receive more surveys from LightSpeed than from any other survey company.  Keep in mind this also depends on your demographic and how detailed your profile is.

I have done about 10 or more surveys and I've only gotten 150 points. All this is due to the fact that their site keeps getting errors and when ever they get errors the survey ends up totally not working so I could be 30 minutes into the survey and poof all my time is gone! I e-mailed them 3 times about a survey error and no one responds at all!

I've had no problems. All my points have been credited. I received Cranium Family Edition after redeeming over 3000 points. I also received 3 Amazon e-certificates at various times. The most recent one being three days ago. Some of the surveys are a little long, but they also compensate with more points for the longer surveys. I'd recommend Lightspeed to anyone.

I was a member for 10 years and lost
untold number of points because they
just expired. Finally, I decided to cash in $20 for 2 amazon gift certificates...next time I visited the site, my name was no longer on
their registry and I lost over 6,000
points. The surveys are long if you
qualify, and often in the middle of the survey you find that you've spent 10 minutes of your time and the survey ends because you gave an answer that is the same as many others have given. Don't waste your time.

In the last month I have had the same problem. After being a member for a long time, I now can't login and have sent at least 4 requests for my login information. Wish there was a phone number to call them.

I've earned over 9,000 lightspeed points for the last couple years and, without any warnings, my account has been locked. Therefore, I've sent numerous emails to Lauren asking for an explanation or at least give me a chance to redeem my lightspeed points, however, all of my requests have been ignored. Beware of this survey company---it's a hoax! I've reported them to consumer affairs, the bbb, and the attorney general office.

I've been a member for a few years. Surveys are usually pretty interesting. Have only run into problems a couple of times when I would click on a survey to take and I get a message stating that I already took it(which I did not). This happened on more than one occasion. Never have had problems being credited with points. Have never had any problems redeeming credits.

Lightspeed account deleted with ZERO notice. 1700+ points GONE, POOF!!! Just like that. I'm ABSOLUTELY FURIOUS RIGHT NOW!!! I was waiting to cash out my $15 PayPal and now I'm totally screwed. It takes a long time to accumulate those f***** points and I'm SO pissed. F*** Lightspeed.

I think Lauren is a fake Customer Service person. There is NO Customer Service. The site is a black hole.

The rewards are not that great, survey are LONG (that is IF you even qualify). Points expire without you knowing about it and their Customer Service does not get back to you. I would not recommend this site to anyone.

Does anyone have a phone number to contact this "Lauren" , whom doesn't seem to exist. I have had so many emails bounce back from "Lauren" that I am tired of being taken advantage of with her surveys and incentive programs. Once again, I continue searching for a phone number to contact this company or even speak with "Lauren" in person.

This site has taken the option to receive the payout out of the script for Australian users, drew Micheal constantly spams me their FAQs even when I am not in correspondence with him. I have written lightspeed about 4 times in about 2 weeks and still haven't gotten closer to getting my $50 payout. Used to be a good site. I would now classify lightspeed as a scam. knowing I'm on to them they'll probably ''lose'' my login information from their database also. Stay away and don't waste your time. These are small time people running these webpages probably out of their homes granted the lack of customer service and the fact that the scripts conveniently take away the option to get a payout even when you talk to this illusive drew about the problem.

I emailed her over 20 times and still have not have any thing back.

LIGHTSPEED WARNS OF SURVEY SCAM - WALMART'S WESTERN UNION MONEY GRAM SURVEY IS NOT LEGITIMATE

I am a Lightspeed panel member, and I received the following email warning me of the scam. There is also an email version.

Dear Panelist,

If you received a letter or email with Lightspeed’s name and address that included two cashier’s checks it is not legitimate! Lightspeed Consumer Panel will never send you any sort of mailed correspondence without your previous consent. It has recently come to our attention that there is a letter being circulated that begins with a “Lightspeed Consumer Panel” logo at the top of the page and our NJ office address, followed by an unknown Canadian address (not associated with Lightspeed). The letter begins, “Attention: SURVEY PARTICIPANT, This is in response to your interest in carrying out customer satisfactory program on MoneyGram International Facilities.” It ends by instructing the person to “…call Michael Daddy : 1-905-462-5600 to complete your survey. Yours truly, Amanda McDonald, Client Manager” These people are NOT employed by Lightspeed Research nor associated with the company in any way. There may also be cashiers checks included in the envelope featuring the name “Chase Manhattan Bank, 6040 Tarbell Road, Syracuse, NY 13206” in the top left hand corner. These checks will be filled out for an odd amount of money.

DO NOT DEPOSIT THESE INTO YOUR BANK ACCOUNT. THEY ARE NOT REAL. This is an attempt by scammers to gain access to your financial information and to cheat you out of money.

Lightspeed Research has reported the mail fraud scheme to the United States Postal Inspection Service, which is the law enforcement agency responsible for investigating mail fraud.

Please contact Lightspeed Research immediately if you have received the above letter and checks; or if you have any further questions regarding this matter.

they were great at first, then I noticed that my points were not being credited, I emailed "lauren" and about two weeks later it was resolved but I never got the points back that weren't credited. This last month I haven't been able to log in, it says my password is incorrect and my email isn't in their data base. I know that I am typing in both correctly! I have emailed numerous times and nothing!! I was in the middle of testing a product I wonder how their customers will react when I call them and tell them how I can't complete their test because they won't let me log in!!??

I RECENTLY RECEIVED A REQUEST FROM LIGHTSPEED TO DO A CONSUMER SURVEY IN REGARDS TO THE CUSTOMER SERVICE AT WALMART'S WESTERN UNION MONEY GRAM CENTER. I RECEIVED 2 CHECKS FROM LIGHTSPEED WITH INSTRUCTIONS TO CALL A NUMBER AND THAT PERSON WOULD GIVE ME ALL THE INFORMATION I NEEDED TO COMPLETE THIS SURVEY. I CALLED THIS NUMBER AND MICHAEL ANSWERED HE TOLD ME TO DEPOSIT ONE OF THE CHECKS AND CALL HIM BACK THE NEXT DAY AFTER NOON FOR FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS. I TOOK THESE CHECKS TO CHASE BANK AND LOW AND BEHOLD THEY WERE BOTH COUNTERFEIT. AT THIS TIME THE CORPORATE OFFICE OF CHASE AND I ARE WORKING TOGETHER TO CATCH THESE THIEVES. I HOPE ANYONE ELSE WHO HAS RECEIVED THIS WILL TAKE THEM TO THE NEAREST CHASE BANK AND NOT BECOME A VICTIM OF THIS TYPE OF FRAUD.

I spent hours upon hours for several weeks taking surveys for Lightspeed. I earned enough points for $20 through Paypal and I tried to login a couple of weeks ago only to find that my account had been mysteriously deleted. I have sent numerous emails to have the issue resolved and so far I haven't gotten a response. I think maybe at one point in time that it was a good company to take surveys for but after discovering the many other people who have had a problem with them, I believe that those days are over.

When I first signed up with this company(2006) I never had problems always received ecard when I totaled enough points.Since Jan 2009 up to present when I receive email invitation I have problems signing in. I email them so many times about this and only received 1 answer but nothing resolved. Something is going on with this company. I had earned points that would have been added to new points but isnt going to happen

This was one of the best survey companies I worked for. I made a fair amount of money with them, once I finally started cashing out. I had been a member for over two years, but didn't begin requesting rewards until about six months ago. Well, mysteriously about a month later, my account disappeared. First it said my password was incorrect (which it wasn't). Then it said my e-mail address didn't exist in their database. Now, three months later and multiple attempts to contact them, I have lost out on over 2,000 points and no longer receive surveys. So in the end, they seem to be a bit of a scam.

I loved it! I cashed out a few times and never received any spam. However, I haven't received a single survey in 4 or 5 months (when I used to get a dozen a week) I would qualify for all of them, but now nothing at all :(

For years Lightspeed has been good to me -- until a little over a month ago when I redeemed 1100 earned points for an Amazon e-gift certificate and never received it. Numerous attempts to reach "Lauren" at Lightspeed have resulted in nothing. Zip. Zero. I feel totally ripped off.

I signed up and within the hour began receiving, not survey (although I got those as well) but SPAM. They deny being responsible, but being data professional, I'm very careful about giving out my information. This is the first time I have ventured forth to sign up for such a survey and I'm very sorry to have done so indeed. When I tried to unsubscribe I received a boiler plate email from "Lauren" at Lightspeed who assured me that if I ignored the 3 email reminders that they would send me to confirm my participation, my information would automatically be deleted from their database. So far this has not happened. They've not held up their end of the contract as far as I'm concerned AND the fact that I began receiving SPAM emails so close to the time that I first signed up is a coincidence I'm not prepared to accept.

I too can't get into Lightspeed Panel account, Keep getting error message that ID and password do not exist in data base. Looks like to me that they have folded up and took all our points with them.

I had the exact same thing happen to me as happened to Amber below me. I spent about an hour and a half of my time completing the surveys for a promised total 2,500 points. I have yet to recieve the points, and I have emailed "Lauren" five times now, and she has not replied to me at all.

It's ridiciulous, I want my compensation for my time, and I'm definately considering leaving the panel.

Lightspeed had always been one of my favorites, I've been a member for several years. It once offered the best compensation in points (translated to money or merchandise) for your time. I received the rewards promised and Lauren (who I don't think is a real person) at one time DID respond promptly to emails. However things seem to have changed and I've had some problems. A few days ago was the last straw.

Several times over the last few months I would receive an email invite to a survey, click the link and instead of being taken to a survey I’m taken to a page saying I’ve already started this survey and cannot participate. After this happened a couple of times I emailed Lauren, who NEVER responded.

A few days ago I received an offer of a 500 point survey, which I completed. At the end I was presented with an offer to complete part two for an additional 2000 points, of course I accepted.

I spent over an hour and at the end when I submitted the survey I found myself on the login page, not logged in. I logged in and checked my account and was NOT credited with the points. I emailed Lauren and got a reply today that made it obvious she didn’t really read my email as my specific concern was not addressed.

I’m wondering if they are going down the road of some of the other survey companies.

There’s over an hour of my life I won’t get back. So now I’m hesitant to participate in their surveys in the future.

This is not a scam, once you sign up with your e-mail address, they will send you survey invitaion,(depends on your age, gender etc. I have registered with myself (as a housewife in the 40's) also my husband (as a full time worker and 40's), my husband has got more invitaions than I do. I have signed up several survey programs and this is the most frustrating one 'cause as I mentioned, it seems like they send people who seem to be quealified for the survey, since my husband and I never receive the same survey invitaion like he gets Beer survey, but I never get one, and I get grocery staff, but he rarely gets such survey, so looks like they carefully choose before sending invitaion of each survey, right? but when you click the link and log in the site to start the survey, there are few or a lot questions before they tell you if you are qualified for the survey, sometimes it even let me to waste my time over 10 minutes before they tell me I am not qualified, and if not qualified, they used to get me at least 10-15 points, but no longer get me even 10-15 points for disqualified survey, so it's just wasting time. Even if qualfied and completed, sometimes do not get points for their system error, and the lauren (the woman who is sending you e-mail) never reply and rarely fix the problem. (my husband had completed survey for 150 points and at when he clicked "complete" buttom, he got system error message and never received the 150 points after 30 minutes of his time was wasted for the survey and the Lauren never replies and never posted his 150 points). I did product testing survey from this web site recently and it had the similar problem too, it said first I had to take survey when I got the product and it was supposed to get me 75 points, but when I completed and checked my acct, only 50 points was given, and wrote Lauren about it, but no reply no 25 points. what a irresponsible!!! I hate this program. she's the worst! (Mary Blighton (Synovate) Carol (My Survey) always reply me and solve problems asap and they give me some points even disqualified survey). Anyway Light speed points can redeem for rewards like gift cards and cash via Pay Pal (you can request for a check by mail also), they offer instant e-gift card from Amazon.com usually comes within 20-30 minutes after redeem online. this is the readon I stay in this program. I usually have points 500-1000 in my acct (mine alone or combime with my husband's), we have a little child, I often need something for her, and when I have to buy something, go to Amazon and see if they have what I am looking for, (from diapers to toys, clothes, to kids DVD, books etc) and if they have, I go back to Light speed site and redeem my (and husband's) points for Amazon GC, and wait for 30 minutes or less (on friday nights and weekends, you have to wait until Monday), and use them for shopping at Amazon. kids staff is only needed for a short period of life, so we do not want to pay for them a lot, right? so this is helpful. 550 points for $5 amazon GC, 1100 for $10. And get 550 points, usually take 3-4 momth for me, my husband earn 5-600 points in 2 weeks 'cause he gets more surveys.

joined a few on line survey sites, this one is good; frequent surveys, quite interesting and fairly easy to complete, though would check mail box frequently; I missed a few due to my work schedule and the short closing dates. so far so good !!

I've been a member for about 2 months. I've gotten many surveys in my email box. However, I only qualified for about 40% of the ones offered. I went through about 5 surveys which gave me enough points to cash out for $10 in PayPal. I received the $10 the next day. It's an easy to use site and pleasant to navigate. I've had a positive experience with LightSpeed and recommend it to others.
