International Data Entry at Home Institute

Is Maryanne Kennedy and www.OnlineDataInstitute.com a Scam?

International Data Entry at Home Institute is a new certification program created by Maryanne Kennedy.  She claims that after completing her course you'll be able to make $210 - $1,020 a day only working 7hrs a week.

The training that is provided is for a "new" kind of data entry opportunity, one that requires no experience and the most basic computer skills.  Maryanne goes on to describe how on one lucky day she was introduced to the International Data Entry at Home Institute and her life has never been the same.

After completing the certification program at OnlineDataInstitute.com Maryanne has: quit her job, purchased luxury vehicles, lives in a huge house, spends more time with her son...and so on.  So is the International Data Entry at Home Institute a legit program or another BS scam preying on people's desire for extra cash and the chance to work from home?

In my experience any data entry program that has been making outrageous income claims sells you nothing more than a marketing manual.  The data entry that they're talking about referrers to filling out online ads for companies.  The money that you make only comes after people buy the products that you're advertising.

The program at the Online Data Institute costs $197, considerably more than the average data entry course so I thought they might be offering a more legitimate product.  Unfortunately, that's not the case.

It's the same as all the others, they direct you to Google's advertising program and deceive you into thinking that you'll be paid for the work you do, without telling you that it actually costs money to place these ads.

The type of work that they're actually selling can be lucrative if you understand and have training in internet marketing.  However the majority of International Data Entry at Home Institute customers are expecting to get what was advertised, a simple data entry job.  This is why there's a growing list of complaints against OnlineDataInstitute.com, their customers are not getting what they paid for.

Thank god I googled her name before I decided to buy her program.I became very suspicious when I clicked on their disclaimer links and all of them came back 404 not found. This just reinforced my belief that all of these online money making websites are scams.I got taken before and paid a lot of my hard earned money and never got it back even though they all promised a no questions asked money back policy. They are all in it to make their own money and that's what all these scams are all about. If it was that easy, just enter 4-5 lines of text into a form, don't you think everyone would be doing it and no one would
work for a real company anymore?
Too bad, because I really loathe my job but I guess I would either have to win the Mega Millions or just suck it in and put up with it.

I became suspicious when I went to the website via two different emails at two different times, and the website said there were only 2 positions left in my area - both times. I did a GoogleEarth on the address and found it to be a warehouse - ligetimate address - bad location for a 'business'. Then I did a search on 'International Data-Entry-At-Home Institute', and landed here. A little common sense goes a long way. I just saved $197. Thanks for this site.

I found this after the fact. this very morning I gave them my info. I called them immediately and they told me to call back in a couple of days. I immediately went to my bank (a 10 minute trip) By the time i got to the bank it was already there. Tomorrow i will be filing a dispute with the bank who will give my money back and the bank wiil go after them. If you give them your info and change your mind within a couple of days Go to your bank and file a dispute and let your bank work for you

Remember, if something sounds too good to be true, it usually is. People don't luck into "little work for great pay jobs" unless they make them up themselves or work up the ladder to be advanced into one.
Usually, when an opportunity falls into your lap, great job, acting career, singing career, modelling, the person that is offering you the legitimate opportunity of a lifetime has enough hope and faith in you to pay the upfront costs. You should have to pay money to be hired by a company that needs your skills. Think about it.

I just spent 20 minutes on the phone arguing with someone who is so worried about my well being he didn't want to return my money. After a lot of yelling on my part, he finally conceded he could give me my money back, even though he was still concerned I would not be able to make more money. I even told him I didn't want to make more money. I was the first person he had talked to who didn't want to make more money. Such a scam. We'll see if it appears on my credit card.

Based upon what I've read in this forum I have just contacted these people and demanded a full refund. I bluntly told them I was not interested and wanted my money refunded. Of course they tried to convince me of my LIFETIME membership and the great opportunity I was missing! I persisted in insisting on my refund which they said they would process. I also contacted my credit card company to give them a Heads-Up on the situation in case this becomes a disputed claim. Time will tell. Thanks to all of you for the insight

I thought that this may be a legitimate work from home business. I went and purchased one of those prepaid Walmart visa cards to pay the $197 with so that if it was a scam they wouldn't have my banking information. I wish I had found this page before I even gave them that even. I have requested a refund and I will persue it now, thanks to the warnings from all of you. I am so glad I didn't give them my bank information. I've learned that it is too good to be true.

I am so glad that I found this site. I am currently looking into working from home so I can stay at home with my baby but make some spending money in the mean time. It just amazes me that people do this to other people. I even emailed them with my concerns and they sent me back assuring that it was not a scam. Thanks

My husband and I almost got caught up into this and THANK GOD I googled and found this site! We are not going through with giving them Our credit card # for $4,000.00 the "2" guys that called almost had us. Justin Barlow &or/Kial Oliver (kyle)was upset that I didn't give my credit card # on Thursday and I said I would do so today...I'm waiting for his call in about 2 hours (This could get interestingly fun)
As for Maryanne I have a confirmation # for my refund of the $197.00 to my bank account. 10 days into all of this... I'm a bit slow but things weren't adding up and I googled. We were promised a success story on an Infomercial and they "wouldn't let us fail because they couldn't fail" I wrote EVERYTHING down just like Justin/ Kial told me to do. So if anyone needs phone #s I have them.

I enrolled in the program on June 22, 2008. I waited the entire week for the materials and never once did I receive them. I also started getting a bad feeling about it so i did a little research and began to see the information about it being a scam. I called today, June 28, 2008 and requested a refund. Like the others have said they tru to convince you to wait and see how the program works but I insisted that I wanted a refund. The lady said that she would speak with her supervisor, then she said that there was not one available. Long story short, they will try every method to have you try it out to talk you out of trying to get your money back. This is definetly a SCAM!!!!!!

Please Beware this company is so full of BS... You can't even access their so call training materials & they do want you to spend more money you have to pay every time someone clicks an ad you post.. What a bunch of BS... It's makes you wonder is every company like this... There are to many out there pretending to want to help you... All they want is your money... I feel so stupid but I will get my money back... I know I will do more research from now on...

They have told me they would refund my money as I never did get the information they were to provide me. When they told me I would receive it in the mail in a few days, I told them I would refuse it and wanted my money back. They continue to try to convince me to at least read the material. I am continuing to request my refund. I believe they will return my money but I believe it will take persistance.

I had the same experience as Frank from Indiana where 2 males contacted me on the phone right after I sent for the Data Entry Program. Unfortunately I fell for their speil and bought the least costly of the programs offered which was still $9200.00(yes, I feel like a fool). I have not been able to do what they have "assigned me" through Thrive Learning Institute. Each time I try to do one of the assignments there seems to be another fee.

I dont know if they are a scam or not but I know it is not working for me so I am trying to get my money back peaceably by contacting them daily by e-mail, but I may have to get nasty. Don't be stupid like me. They can be really convincing.

*******UPDATE*****

I got a full refund from these people.
Here is a copy of the emial they sent me.

Dear customer,

A full refund for the Program has already been issued.

We kindly request you to please wait for few more days, you will definitely see a revert back of payment in your account.

We appreciate your patience.

Thanks,
Carolina (I work with Maryanne)

Be very aggravating. Make sure that you send them email every day or call them on their REAL 800#. I posted it earlier.

Let them know that you know they are being investigated by the FBI for fraud and the attorney generals office. Advised them that you have filed a complaint with the BBB.

They will not want to deal with you. They will issue you a refund to get rid of you.

I got my refund posted to my account on 6/21/08.

Also if you paid by credit card contact your bank about a reversal of the charge for fraud.
GOOD LUCK.

We spent 4-6 hours trying to verify the International Data Entry At Home Institute's numerous, listed verification sites and authorities. After investigation, the organizations that they gave as references, could not be proven to be in existence--let alone creditable!

Thank you SO much. I was suspicious of this company when I came upon their website. I was duped before (I'm embarrassed to admit) by a company selling their program for making money online doing marketing surveys; however, at least that company did honor their money-back guarantee and I received my refund in a reasonable amount of time. This proves once again the old adage: "If it looks too good to be true it probably is (too good to be true!)

SCAM,SCAM, SCAM.....

Avoid this company. They are just a bunch of scam artist. They have no data entry just a program to write ads for GOOGLE which you pay more money for.

Their address is a fake and they are being investigated by the attorney general and the FBI.

They did answer my emails and the real phone # for their customer service dept.is 800-381-7820.

I am working on getting a refund.

We will see if they come through.

I then started getting phone calls from 2 males who said they had bought my name from the site of Maryanne Kennedy and then said they were there to help me make more money. They stated their program was more advanced than the “International Data Entry Institute” and they wanted me to invest much more money to talk to one of their success counselors (same term used by the “International Data Entry Institute” web site) I said No on each occasion they called. They called a total of 7 times each time becoming more insulting and harassing. On the last time they called they yelled at me because I would not participate in their program which they said was connected to the Maryanne Kennedy program in this call and they said they were putting me on their loser list of unsuccessful people. I asked them to never call me again. I emailed the customer service of the “International Data Entry Institute” and was that the individuals were known by them. There was no contact information available other than a return email.
They are using a fake address on their web site:
Re: International Data Entry At Home Institute

They are using an address (1240 Lincoln Way East Massillon, Ohio 44646), this is actually the address for a UPS store.

I contacted the store owner and she has already reported them to the authorities. See: mapquest I talked to a store employee there and she verified they have nothing to do with their store. They are using a fake address.

I turned them over to the FBI at ic3.gov and to the respective Attorneys General offices where in they are operating. They recently sent me an email saying I will get a refund. I hope I really do get a refund and that they will straighten up their act. They as of this date are still using the fake UPS address.

Here is their real phone number 1-800-381-7820 I have also tracked down the people who apparently own one of their numbers they used to harass me by using Intellius to do a reverse phone search. I sent that to the FBI as well I will not publish it here because that would not be fair.

I tried to get info on them, even tried tricking the online correspondent, but "she" types the same thing over & over and warns only "2" more positions left - right! You cannt get info on the warranties, disclaimers, etc. it just jumps around the page. Hey send me $197.00 and I will get my dog to jump around for you,at least my dog doesn't lie or scam! Don't get ripped off, whats the old saying "If it sounds too good to be true it probably is".
