Imergent
Imergent is the company that provides the
technology and infrastructure for the
StoresOnline ecommerce Business
opportunity. The company offers
customers a user interface using their drag
and drop technology.
This allows you to make design changes
and edits by simply clicking and dragging
items to make quick and easy changes.
However appealing this may look on paper
Imergent and StoresOnline have been plagued
with customer complaints.
The complaints range from technical
errors to insufficient customer support, all
leading to common problems associated with
refunds. Most recently, Imergent has
begun cooperating with an online consumer
advocacy website where most of the
complaints are posted.
Imergent claims to be making an effort to
restore their reputation by addressing all
customer complaints and issuing refunds.
However, it's hard to tell the sincerity of
this effort since the consumer advocacy site
makes a profit from cleaning up companies'
reputations.
There have also been many state attorneys
that have filed suit against Imergent,
although they have never won, they have
reached settlement agreements. The
most prominent was in Texas where Imergent
set up a $400,000 account for refund
requests.
Imergent's defense to the public
accusations has been that the smear campaign
launched against them is the work of short
selling stock traders. Basically,
claiming that they mess with the company's
reputation to sway the stock price and make
a quick buck. This defense has not
been factually confirmed.
Overall, I don't think that people need
to be spending thousands of dollars on a
store front website and internet marketing
training. I understand that many
people feel intimidated about starting their
own website, but if you invest in your
education and use the right tools not only
will you succeed but you will also learn valuable
skills.
