FreelanceHomeWriters Review

Is Freelance Home Writers a Scam...?

FreeLanceHomeWriters.com is a website that claims to show you a variety of ways to make money online writing.  And as the title suggests this is freelance work, meaning you work for yourself and will be paid on a per-job basis.

If you're like me then you've had it up to here with bogus data entry and type at home websites which simply sell you a disguised Google AdWords marketing course in place of the writing work they promised.

...So is FreeLanceHomeWriters.com the Real Deal or a Cleverly Disguised Scam?

I want to tell you what's inside the members section of FreeLanceHomeWriters so that you know exactly what you're getting before you join.  This way you can decide for yourself if it's a scam or not.

First of it's important to understand that this is a resource for freelance writers, this means that they are not guaranteeing you any work, all that they're promising is to teach you the ropes of this business and provide you with freelance job leads.

It will be up to you to bid on job, meet the qualifications, and negotiate the pay, in the field of freelance writing it's simply impossible for someone else to do this for you.

...What's Inside FreelanceHomeWriters.com?

When you first login to the members section you'll notice that there's a lot of info.  Before you get started I recommend reading through the Freelance Home Writers Basic Training Guidebook.

It will provide you with all the essentials you need to get started in your new career as a freelance home writer. This guide will help you position yourself as an expert so you can get hired for more jobs at a higher pay rate using their job finding software.

There's also a multimedia presentation of how to use the job hosting websites partnered with FreelanceHomeWriters.com.  These videos will take you through each step of successfully bidding on the job and managing your accounts.

And Finally, the most important feature of FreelanceHomeWriters.com, the patented Job Finding Software.  At the click of a button this tool provides you with freelance job positions from dozens of categories.

These job posts vary in technical qualifications with some requiring more skilled writers but with the majority accepting folks with no experience at all.

...Why Are There So Many Complaints for FreelanceHomeWriters.com?

The negative comments and complaints about this company primarily stem from their billing process.  They offer a 7 day trial period of their services for $2.95.  If you do not cancel in time they will begin auto-billing your credit card for $47 per month.

If you've signed up for this service and wish to cancel you can reach FreelanceHomeWriters at 1-800-750-7660 Monday-Friday 9am-12am Central Standard Time.

Overall the resources and services provided by this company can be helpful to freelance writers but for the high monthly fee the benefits are just not worth it in my opinion.  Since their software generates job leads by searching several freelance job posting sites you can save yourself the monthly fee and simply do the job searches on your own.

I agree with the first commenter, although I didn't find "content.kng@gmail.com" through this site, but through freelancer.com. I was recruited by that individual, who called himself Kevin and said he was in England (although his Freelancer account said he was in the US, but you manually set that), now I think he was from Pakistan or something, esp since his English was odd and disjointed at times. I actually think "he" was more than one person, because the style and quality of his communication would vary. Anyway, he hired me to write for him, insisted I get on gmail chat and communicate with him constantly. He got very personal, wanting all kinds of info, but only after a long time would he tell me his name...which I don't think was real, he said he was Kevin Rowland and his brother, Keith, is some kind of huge all-powerful webmaster. Anyway, after repeated promises of payment he disappeared, owing me a substantial sum of money, and has never reappeared again, never answers my emails or chats, etc. SCAM.

If any of you are stupid enough to give your credit card details to an online website that has no accreditation and is not secured, you deserve to be robbed.

Writers always have to watch for scams. Be very careful who you work for. Here's another scam:

Be very wary of a person who calls himself Content King, email content.kng@gmail.com. He is a scam artist. He called himself "Cody." He approached me about writing articles for him. He sent me an information page that noted he paid once you reached 10,000 words. He "gave the impression" he lived in the United States, but I now believe he lives in Pakistan. He offered to pay me a weekly fee for managing some writers. I took the job and I am now out $267.02. I will never get paid and I had to pay other writers out of my own pocket. Something really needs to be done about these people in other countries running these kinds of scams on Americans. They pretend to be American, bid on and get jobs and then need American writers for the articles. I think everyone should email this guy and let him know you know who he is and you won't fall for his tricks.

OMG SCAM!!!!

I had to report them to my bank and my bank told me they've gotten reports from them before. After you cancel your free trial they don't only charge you $2.95, they charge you $59.99 two weeks later. They expect people not to notice, and on top of that they send you junk mail (not only spam to your email, but physical junk mail to your home!)Avoid!

I have not signed up for this.

It is obviously a scam, when they Email you everyday then ask for your email address to register.

They know it.

I am also desperate to find some work from home.

Stay away from this lot people.

Anyone can find good freelance jobs on the Internet without having to pay for information. There are several websites for freelancers, and the best ones are those where you do not have to pay.

For people looking to hire a freelance writer, completely avoid Deb Brown of Snellville, Georgia. She is on ifreelance.com and is a horrible person. She fails to complete awarded projects, is a liar, has poor English skills, and always has many spelling and grammar errors.

Thanks to all of you who took the time to write. After reading (over & over) about your similar bad experiences, one would have to be a complete idiot to deal with Freelancehomewriters.com. I need the work, but I sure as heck don't need a scam. Thanks again.

these people are like all other on-line businesses now...a scam. they steal your money without conscience. I canceled this service 2 months ago and yesterday got billed $47. I advise not to participate in these unethical business practices and to dispute every charge. BIG SCAM

freelancehomewriters.com is pulling the Craigslist bait and switch under a new name freelancewritersplacement.com,
but when you get to that site the graphics are for the old name.

They claim a "median" income of $775/week. I would love to talk a writer making that much from a site that needs to employ these tactics to recruit.

Really, if writers were making that much we would be sharing the site on our blogs and it wouldn't need to waste time posting to Craigslist.

So someone is posting in craiglist that they need a copy writer, and pay something like $20 per 300 words which is good compared to sites like textbroker, the lady emails me back with a real formal obviously automatic reply directing me to register at freelancehomewriters, and of course her email once undisguised by craiglist is blablalba@frelancehomewriters, which is what prompted me here, and now i'm so angry that craigslist is so overrun with internet scams and spam, this is the second one this week

Listen... I have worked for these companies before and YES they are scams...

I was 18, fresh out of highschool... then it was the typing and reading and buy government homes and cars at auction. I am from Santa Barbara, where all these telemarketing companies began. Anyway, I did that for about 6 months.

Then about 8 years later, went to work for a company in Goleta as a temporary accountant. Turns out it's the same kind of company except this time it was start your own business, write for income, talent websites, start you're own website... etc. All of these programs under one roof, one company... it's a scam. Anyway, that's not to say that some people didn't benefit from the information but the question is, was it worth the money they paid? Nope...

They have no idea what they are talking about, they lift most of the info from other books as well as information they found on the web.

I responded to this ad but when I got the reply, I knew immediately it was a scam.

FreelanceHomeWriters.com Is a big Scam. I would advise all who have fallen for this to go to FBI/gov. And file a complaint. Also contact your local sheriff depart and file a complaint. Call your banks and credit card company's. To get your money credited to your account they will be investigated and shut down.

I ordered program very excited and look at it for 6 days and read over all materials between the 1st and 6th day. I liked what I saw, so on the 7th day I chose to cancel my 7 day TRIAL and bought the ADVANCE membership for $97.00. Company reps promised me 3 months at $97.00 and only $9.95 months vs. $14.95 month since I upgraded to VIP membership. But on the 32nd day into VIP membership, company cancelled my membership, charged me $97.00, refused to refund money even though they cancelled a month before my 8 week trial was up. THEY STINK AND SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES, LEACHING OFF POOR FOLKS LIKE ME out of work, spending what little we have to try to get into a home business...THEY ARE LEACHES WITHOUT ANY CONSCIOUS!!!!!!!

FreelanceHomeWriters.com - is a complete scam. That is, they lie on their web site and mislead on the services.

1. they charge $2.95 to signup while announcing 100% refunds if not satisfied.
2. they promise access to job offers.
...

turns out... the $2.95 is NOT refundable and they cite some fine print hidden in the online notifications (you know... the stuff we never read 'cause it's hidden away or too small). So, 100% refundable notice on the display is a lie.

turns out... that the sites where there are presumably some job offers (or it's actually an opportunity to "bid" for jobs offers) are associated with other pay sites.

turns out... they share your email & phone information with OTHER advertising offers who call on voice using your cell phone minutes to try to sell you a deal that they can barely even explain over the phone.

turns out... by paying your $2.95,... you've signed up to be charged ANOTHER $47.00 each and every month.

>> I can't even trust that they have canceled my account as I insisted.

thank you so much for posting this article and the comments... the comments all looked suspicious to me on the websites because they all had correct punctuation and you weren't allowed to post any comments of your own. Other websites promoting this website were sketchy as well, the links weren't clickable and the links that were clickable the websites didn't seem legit and there was limited information. Usually companies build up their website because its an easy way to have consumers interact and become more informed about the company
