Big Ticket Depot Review & Customer
Comments:
Is BigTicketDepot a Scam?
BigTicketDepot.com is an interesting new website that combines the
services of an online auction site with a business opportunity. As the
name suggests Big Ticket Depot is exclusive to high-end items like houses,
yachts, RVs, and so on.
At first glance this creative opportunity does seem like it might have
potential, especially in today's economy where more and more expensive items are
hitting the resale market. However, before you jump in head over heels
into another biz opp take a look at all the facets of this program.
So What Exactly is BigTicketDepot and How do You Make Money...?
The company was started and developed by Joel Sauceda, CEO of Vortex
marketing, and has many in-depth layers to it. You can join the business as
a broker or a seller, as a seller you're simply using the site to sell your
high end products.
As a broker/affiliate your goal is to sell one of the many items listed at
Big Ticket Depot, you do this by advertising the product through various
avenues. If the product sells through one of your ads you will receive a
predetermined percentage of the sales price, so for example if you sell a
$30,000 car where the seller is offering 5% commission you walk away with
$1,500.
What Are the Costs of Doing Business with BigTicketDepot.com...?
There is a one time fee of $99 and a reoccurring monthly fee of $39; they say
the fee is for the use of the website and back office that they'll provide you
with. You can also make money by referring new affiliates into this
business which will pay you 50% of their sign up fee, ($50).
Now, as a seller you are charged $150 a month to host an item priced under
half a million dollars and $300 a month for items over that. If as an
affiliate you manage to convince someone to sell their item through
BigTicketDepot you will earn half of their monthly payments so either $75 or
$150.
As you can see by now the emphasis of these payment plans is clearly on
recruitment. They're paying you for both referring sellers and affiliates.
This should be a cautionary sign as it's clear that they don't have a network of
millionaires buying and selling products from BigTicketDepot.com like they
hope.
So is BigTicketDepot a Legitimate Business or Another Fly by
Night Scam...?
It's too early to tell if this is simply a cleverly designed scam but there
are definitely problems with the business model that need to be noted.
This venture has all the makings of a hyped up pseudo MLM waiting to go under.
First off, eBay already allows for the posting of high ticket items, and you
can find everything from diamonds to beach front property listed there.
Not to mention that millions of people use the site everyday without having to
pay a monthly fee to showcase their products.
On the Big Ticket Depot promos that I've read they say that they'll teach
you how to approach eBay sellers and convince them to switch to
BigTicketDepot.com. That's going to be one tough sell as you're asking
them to leave a free site with tons of traffic in exchange for an unknown costly
endeavor.
The other thing to pay attention to is the hyped up promotions done by
BigTicketDepot. They throw around these high commissions as if Gulfstream
jets are sold every day. In reality high-end purchases are made over time
through experienced brokers, not on a random website.
I would recommend thoroughly researching this endeavor before signing up,
it'd be one thing if the site was launched by someone famous or wealthy with
enough contacts to make this work, but as is it doesn't seem like BigTicketDepot
will last.
Meanwhile you'll be paying that $40 monthly fee while you wait for your
phantom millionaire to buy a new yacht.

Comments to date: 9. Page 1 of 1. Average Rating: Tim Tooke New York | 5:54am on Monday, October 5th, 2009 | I have been a member of Big Ticket Depot and Big Value Depot for several months and although I have only made a little money, I remain hopeful AND optimistic that this is going to be HUGE. Everyone involved in the business is very optimistic. Whether it will be another Ebay is hard to say; but Ebay was not built in a day either. They have the tools, the optimistic attitude and marketing plan to succeed and I honestly believe that they have a good shot at being a very good alternative to EBAY. |
Linda Johnson Indiana | 9:22pm on Friday, October 2nd, 2009 | I have been a member of Big Ticket Depot for several months and although I haven't made money yet, I remain hopeful. Everyone involved in the business is very optimistic. It remains to be seen if this will be another Ebay. |
usvet North Carolina | 6:53am on Tuesday, September 1st, 2009 | RUN whilst ya can folks! BTD BITES THE BIG ONE! I joined in Dec,08 and I cut my losses in March,09. Joel and Brad need to git in the unemployment line behind some of the rest of us. What is this all about, at this stage of the game (Scam)?....getting that residual $39.95/mo sucker`s fee! If you`re in and still paying their lunch $..GET OUT! ebay has nothing to worry about here folks. When I called to cancel, the girl who answered the phone sounded like 16,lol. I`m betting the "head office" is in Joel`s bedroom or basement.LOL |
FK Nebraska | 1:48am on Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009 | I first started with the health and wellness products side of things. The products are real and seem to do their job, but the marketing efforts and promises do not live up to the hype. I was part of the "President's Team" with this. Shortly before I realized how things weren't working out, I joined the Big Ticket Depot as one of the founders, and it looked great. But once again it did not live up to the hype by any means. They are sending out emails now, telling everyone that they were affected by the turn in the economy, and that if we that may have left, would want to join back up now, we will be left in our original positions, and that we can just start up our monthly payments again.....Uh huh. No can do! Sorry. Fell for it once. Not falling for it again! Save your money on this one! |
Don Saskatoon | 12:18pm on Monday, June 1st, 2009 | Caution. I have sponsored a person on January 5, 2009 and not received credit or payment for them. After the first request for credit I did get a reply but did not get any action on the request. Since that time I have sent many more requests but they will not even respond or acknowledge my email. |
Joel texas | 7:38pm on Wednesday, April 29th, 2009 | BTD Its a SCAM |
BruceM Oceanside, CA | 2:32pm on Sunday, April 5th, 2009 | I too, joined last Dec '08 as a Founding Member and was disappointed in the delays for the start-up. But the wait was worth it. During the delay, the company acquired the software for an almost complete online auction software. Joel' parent company, JBS Holdings, finished developing the software and have launched BigValueDepot, for those items for sale, mainly under $1,000. The costs for sellers is much, much less than what was stated above, the ease of uploading items for sale, and the back office area are terrific.
Is there a possibility for BigTicketDepot and BigValueDepot to have an impact as competition to Ebay & Craiglist, I truly believe so. |
Claude-Fyen Gagnon Montreal | 11:12am on Thursday, April 2nd, 2009 | I joined as an elite founder last dec. with the promise it would be ready very SOON. Five months later after many promises and a cost of $218.97 for nothing up to now.
Marsh 27 2009 they advised they would install a new link to activate our account. Result a week later: no link, no activation, no response to daily email to get information.Question: are they sleeping, too much work or dying?
At least I did not advertise to get new members that would have spent $99.00 for so bad result.
So I don't know about rating but it is not more than 2 now. |
WW New York | 5:33pm on Sunday, March 29th, 2009 | You keep paying them their 39 dollars every month
with their promises of riches. They send people
to your web site for free but no one ever buys.
They promise you pie in the sky results but you end up with NO SALES and NO MONEY but you keep
paying your monthly maintenance fee to make them richer for doing nothing. |
