I have been trying to receive a refund for more than 30 days. I have called and e-mailed. I get information stating it will take 10-12 business days for the refund. I have yet to see the refund. |

I had an E Bay store before and when I seen the example of the processing order,I new it was a scam!
If your'e listing the items for people your not going to get paid until the item is sold & it may not sale & they might pay you either way! If your listing it on your ebay acct. your responsible for fullfiling the orders. It is criminal to post fake auctions and this woman can get ALOT of people into some serious trouble! |

I've done a little more research since I got taken by this awful scam and found out that Cathy Banks was formerly Linda Pierce. It seems that when people start catching on to the scam they simply change the name of the poor woman and the name of her program. This company is based in Cyprus. Good luck to all of us who used a debit card to pay for this awful scam. It seems as the wise thing to do is to put a freeze on your debit card and get a new one issued. |
Dianna USA | 10:52am on Wednesday, January 14th, 2009 |
I too fell for this scam. I'm normally skeptical and cautious when it comes to these types of things. I found this web site after already using my debit card to pay for this scam. I read all the comments posted here and them immediately called my bank explaining my stupidity. The bank representative is checking into it and suggested I may want to put a freeze on my debit card so they can't take anymore money from my account. I will have to go into the bank and sign a form. It all boils down to a major headache. I don't know at this point if I will be able to recover my money. The bank representative said it is probably an overseas company and Cathy Banks does not even exist. |

I was considering purchasing this as well, with today's problems, even though I work still find that we are short on cash, with her money back guarantee it seems really convincing. But then I started asking myself questions, like why wouldnt everyone being doing this if it was so easy? I then thought let me just google to see who this Cathy Banks is..so glad I did!! |

Thank you for your informative site. I just was checking my e-mails and came to Cathy Banks offer. It's a good thing that I googled and found out it was a scam....You saved another and I do feel sorry for the people who were taken in. If only there were honest people out there willing to help others who need to make a few extra bucks to survive.
Thanks again |

I knew this was a hokey site and promptly googled it and lo and behold! These scam sites look very professional, that is usually the first bad sign. Well done for keeping this kind of thing prominent. Always google, they should teach that in school. |

I signed up for this program, listed items on eBay and sold two of them. Now I can't get any help in getting the items shipped! Customer Service will only refer me to the Technical Support phone number which no one answers! This is definitely a rip off advertisement! I now have two customers waiting for their product and I have no way of shipping it to them. |
Matt Simon Sacramento, California | 9:18pm on Monday, January 12th, 2009 |
I am glad I read this report after Googling the program name. Actually, I had fun using the pop-up chat program where a supposed "live agent" is pleading with me to try the program for even more discount, down to $ 99.00. I asked some simple question to "Linda", "Karen", and some other fake ***** and they could not answer something as simple as "Who is the next President of America", or what color their eyes were. Something simple and personal was never answered. If you swear at them, the program disconnects you if you don't apologize...funny. Thank you for sounding the alarm on this awful scam. |

thank you for posting this. I too googled to find out more about the company and found this site. I didn't have the money but would have borrowed it if it was legit. You saved me the pain of deal with a deadbeat company |
Tony mn | 2:14pm on Thursday, January 8th, 2009 |
It is a poor program offering very little assistance and isn't close to being a step by step program. It also doesn't let you know what it really is and that is a rebate processing business - where you do all the work for a little pay (ONLY IF IT SELLS). While when something does sell she gets the majority of the profit. I'm currently trying to get my money back - so hopefully that isn't as impossible to do as her program. My advise is this - if you want to sell items on auctions and get the profit go directly to the wholesalers and sell their products. You get the entire markup that way and will probably receive more valuable advice then you will with this program! |

Steve, I too made the mistake of purchasing the Cathy Banks scam. However, I believe I've been given a refund. But allow me to detail my trek. 1. Called Capitol One: they couldn't/wouldn't dispute it for 4 working days, because even though they saw the transaction had taken place (even knew the amount, to the penny), it hadn't been posted to my account and wouldn't be for 4 days. BUT they gave me the web-address of the company's name that would appear on my billing statement: Reg-Net, I chased them down. Here is their web site: http://www.reg.net/default.asp
I clicked on "contact" and got their 800 number. I called and talked with a guy named Thor. He said they couldn't do refunds (when I checked info on their sight, it plainly said they don't handle any refunds for their vendors); but he gave me my order number and told me to call 866-897-2464. 2. I called that number and talked Isha (she was most helpful), however she worked in a Facial Products company called Lift SP. I thought oh, brother. I explained my problem; she wasn't sure if she could give me a refund; she asked her supervisor; they said yes! She issued a refund to my account on the spot. She had all the info on the screen in front of her (I verified that). She gave me a confirmation number re: the refund. I then asked (had to coax her) to send me that confirmation and number to my e-mail address (which she had in front of her). She agreed, I'm still waiting for that e-mail. I'll keep ya'll posted.
Also she gave me the Auctionworkathome number: 800-715-1074. |

Cathy Banks/Auction Work at Home offered a $99 special, but took $147 from my account. Logged me off the site before I received any of the free downloads, I received a User Name & Password (which I am unable to access/use)but was unable to even find the website (Googling or others)until I found another email from them and searched it from there. Customer Service can not even help. I was smart enough to write down all phone #'s before being mysteriouosly logged off the site with no way to access it without going thru the payment process again. Thank goodness for my Bank understanding that this is a scam, they entered a claim to retrieve all my money. "If it is too good to be true...then it probably is" unknown author. I would not recommend their site to anyone. Thank you for this review, just wish I had seen it sooner. Definitely lessoned learned. |

I was sent to the site by a link. I started the process and entered my card information, but had a bad feeling so i opened another browser window and did some research. Found all kinds of negative comments about the site, so i decided to stop the process and pressed cancel. AND LO AND BEHOLD... I was still charged when I logged into my bank account to look at account activity. I was charged even after cancelling the order. I tryied for three days to get someone at the company(no answer) and to log into the website(couldn't do it, a "server error" for three days). So I just talked with my bank rep and they a filing a dispute with the company that processed the card transaction, WHICH BY THE WAY is not the same company as Cathy's. THIS WHOLE THING IS A SCAM AND SHOULD NOT BE FOLLOWED BY ANYONE!!!!! I would love to make some extra money online, but i just don't have the money to put into all these BS programs. GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL!!!!!! |

It sounds great what cathy banks said and the minute I close the website, a pop-up window was the sales rep name by Laura, I was typing RNC5^6$, please type after what I type, she didn't do it, perhaps a computer control system didn't do it, so right there I knew it was a scam, People drink pepsi max and don't fall for any scam and con artist when our country is in a recession, people are ripping people off. REMEMBER,if you have to pay anything up front, even 10 cents, it is not real, then 10 cents will become into 10,000 in debt, I have seen it happen to other and learn from them. I am glad it didn't happen to me. Keep saying to yourself, relax something good will happen someday. Peace and save your money. |

Hello: My husband thought this would be an easy thing for me to do at home. I told him I didn't like the idea but he did it anyway. I looked into the website that I had to enter my username/password that they give you once you sign up & pay the fee. We'll, like I thought, you have to purchase more info. $$$$$$$$$$$$$ sign's adding up. I've decided to call & have been sitting on the phone now for over 30 minutes calling 1.800.715.1074 listening to; sorry all of our representatives are currently busy, please stay on the line & your call will be answered by the next representative. Free phone call to cancel OK, enough is enough. I have to hang up now I'm tired of listening to that elevator music at this point. I think I'll have my husband call the C Card company & dispute the charge & take my chances with them. Good Luck to ALL of those looking for honest work to make ends meet. Happy New Year & God Bless |

It's a scam. I bought in for the $99 package, was charged $147, and when I found out the truth I cancelled.. Called "Tech Support" 877-317-0194, talked with Roman (#228) in Utah, he promised (HA)that I was canx'd and a refund was coming.. He works for a call center and I will probably never see my refund.. The other numbers Cathy Banks gives out as Customer Service and Free 1 on 1 Support, both put you on terminal hold and no-one ever comes on-line.. Proves once again "if it sounds to good to be true it probably is" |

I purchased Cathy's work at home program and that is all I did. I never recieved any info on how I was to start the business, I never recieved an email detailing the instructions, never recieved anything in the mail. Basically I gave Cathy my money and never recieved anything in return. Purchased a product and never recieved it. This is a scam she is bilking millions of people of their hard earned money.I also had a company that claimed they were affiliated with Cathy they were trying to get more money from me, Well I did not fall for this scam and he gave me a number to call if was interested in starting my own business. Well when I did'nt recieve anything from Cathy I tried to call this company and got no answer. Nobody answer the phone that was given for Cathy's consultation call. |

I also spent $99 on this Cathy Banks program. I have been trying to contact anyone I can, but I have not been succesfull. The customer service line will never answer. The extention number for the free 30 minute one on one is not valid. My computer is even freezing up if I try to continue with the profit wizard. I can't beleive I fell for this. I put the cost on my debit card. I guess that means I will never see my money again. What can I do? |

Thank you so much Steve for your insight into this SCAM! After reading what the e-mail said, I was almost tempted to sign-up, boy am I glad I didn't. They tried desperately to "pressure" me into signing up for their "special rate of only $99", but, having been scammed before I decided to 'GOOGLE' them and found this site. After reading ALL of the comments posted here, I thank GOD I looked here first before spending money I can't afford. I really would like to find a business I could do from home for extra income, but it seems like there's probably only 1 out of every 100,000 that aren't scams out there. Thanks again for Steve and Google for the insight. |

Wish I would have read your review before purchasing this program. They offered me the program for $99, but there is a pending transaction in my bank account from them in the amount of $157 - what's the additional charges for? Nobody seems to know. I finally got through on the 800# and the representative (who by the way said she only saw a charge of $99 to me) canceled my order. She seemed very nice and seemed to want to help me, but I'm sure it won't end here. I spoke with my bank and they've informed my that nothing can be done until the charge goes through. Then they can help me. DON'T DO THIS - IT'S A SCAM!!!! |

TO answer the lady who is in trouble as a result of the scam artist Cathy. there is a website called "JustAnswer.com" that I used for a legal problem. You state your case and they tell you what the charge is. An expert in that field will pick up your answer for the base cost and if you are happy with their answer, you can "tip" them. They really came through for me. I am also in my 60's and retired and understand your panic. |

I joined Auctionworkathome on 12/3/08. I guess I was one of the lucky ones- I paid 99.00 or 67.00 I can't even remember- I did not receive an e-mail confirmation of a payment. After reading this review, I checked my credit card online and there was a charge for 155.00. What a suprise. From DRI work at home. I'm calling the credit card in the a.m. to report fraudulant charges. The only good thing about all of this is joining Doba which is an authorized distributor for e-bay. I opened my own e-bay store- forget that website they provided. It couldn't even list the shipping costs on the products from Doba. Good Luck everyone. |

promises with in minutes if signing up for her program, you would get her personal e-mail address.
Well, that is a joke also. After signing up for the program I received a link, (which was suspose to be the link to the program, but guess what it was not. It was a link to something called Success University.
I can get a hold of any one to refund my money or do I expect to.PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PROGRAM.

Desperate, below poverty level, and naive. I was like a fish that got hooked line and sinker. Hooked because I paid the $197 on a line that really sounded great, and the sinker was I found this information about Cathy Banks program a few hours to late. Anyways for the first 24hrs, I read the whole program and followed the step by step procedure to get started. Program does lead you to other programs that you have to pay for if you want better results, which I couldnt afford any more than what I paid for already, only to get as far as the merchants application when everything came to a halt at not being able to continue was the first problem I encountered with the site. Then I saw the heads-up information on this program. I immediately called the bank the next morning to let them know but they said I couldnt do anything about it payment was made. They said that I had to have everything documented when trying to get my refund back. They told me to call them and cancel the program, and request for a refund just so I would have a date and time of cancellation. If they didnt refund within the time they said it would take to get the $197 back they would step into the picture and request that my refund be returned immediately. Well it took four weeks and just when I was ready to contact my bank to my surprise and very relieved they deposited the $197 back into my bank account. Though it took four weeks of checking my account everyday, calling them for an update on the refund twice. When asking them for the refund I praised the business and told them that really reading it with in the first 24hrs it just was not for me. I told them I recommended the site to a few friends of mine that said they were going to get involved with the company because of their super gaurantee of the 90day refund if not satisfied. The point is if it sounded really good to me, I will too in praising them for the good offer that wasnt for me but maybe will be to others I recommend. Just to get my $197 back. By reading others experience that did not get their refund I think the approach of killing them with kindness and referring others worked. Print all documents and write information as proof of time and dates so you will be able to take them to the next step if they do not return your refund. For those that said they called and did not get anyone the number I called for Cathy Banks "Auction Work At Home" is 1-800-715-1074. I had no problems talking with a real person on the other end. Remember kill them with kindness is your best tool of getting your refund. Since then I have changed all the info I gave them regarding my account. Better to get a new card then to be sorry later in the future.Good Luck With Getting Your Refund. |

at first I thought this might be a legitimate way to make money from my home. I ordered the program.
after I ordered the program I called the helpline where a girl spoke to me,only after I put my name into a call service. when I was first contacted a man wanted to know how old I was and what my credit was like. He was trying to get $1,000 to help me get my business up and running. I demanded at this time that I get a phone number to speak to the company.
The girl I spoke to gave me away to put firefoxinto my computer so that I could get started making money
After all this took place your website popped up and I no longer felt comfortable with my choice.
I called to cancel my order the man on the phone assured me that this money was not going to come out of my account. I called my bank and they had a hold on the money. I called the company back and was assured that this money was not going to leave my account, however, Saturday evening it was withdrawn even after I canceled and verified the next day that it was canceled. |

I bought the Cathy Banks program on my credit card for $147.00 on 11/12/08. Just received my bill and since I did not get a confirmation email or instructions on how to proceed, I called the 866-897-0662(MN)number on my credit card. Did talk with a customer service rep who gave me a password and vague instructions on how to set up a webpage and a pay-pal account. When I couldn't effect the instructions, I turned to google - too late - and your excellent reporting. Trust me, I'll start in the morning (it's late now)going about getting my hard-earned money back and doing whatsoever to stop this "thieving scum" from robbing others. Like so many others, I was just looking for an honest way to make some extra needed cash. |

Great, I got this warning site popping up after I already paid the $197. Cathy Banks great site was not in my e-mail, it popped up while I was on E-bay! Why would E-bay allow that? I called my bank right away, but since it was on my debt card I have to wait until Monday and then dispute the charge as a fraud. WAMU said they would refund my money at that time. I guess this is what happens when you react too quickly. Shame on me. |

Thank god I did some research on Cathy Banks and found this site. I was just about to buy the auction work at home program for the $147.00. I am disabled and my wife isn't working at this time so I have been looking for other ways to make money when I got the E-mail from Cathy Banks with her latest scam. I am on a fixed income and I support quite a few people on my disability income and its getting impossible to make ends meet. I would find a way to get Cathy Banks prosecuted if she ripped me off, that is if Cathy Banks really exists. I am going to pass the word on to everybody I know about this scam and I hope many more people do research before spending their hard earned money on scams. most people these days are desperate for money and most of the time the money that they send to scam sites like Cathy's is their last dollar |

Wow, as they always say, "If it sounds to good to be true, it probably is". I know everyone out there is hurting right now, myself included. You start reading these scams and in desperation get sucked in. However, I always remember that saying (not very trusting but smart), and I searched for news about Cathy Banks. There will always be cons out there. How do you ever find a good work at home job, without getting scammed? |

I purchased this work at home scam, they told me it would only $99 dollars to start up, and still charged me $147. Second, after registering with ebay like this program had me do in between all their registering, i have no website to go to, no phone number or email address to call or email like i was told i would have, no email was sent to my account like it said, no place to go to login, but they did give me a processor number and username and password. I am trying to stop payment on this right now, but i probably won't be able to. At this point, i recommend nobody buy into this scam, you will end up losing money |

Nothing like what they are advertising!! You are not paid for listing of items on the internet; instead you are a middle man for a dropship warehouse operation. You buy the items and hope to sell them at a profit. This is not exactly getting paid immediatly for listing an item for a company. You get paid if and when the item sells; and then you pay the dropship setup, and if they don't ship, you get nailed by the buyer. A total scam. They will set you up to make a little money at first, then leave you holding the bag and in debt. They make money by getting idiots like me and possibly you to send them two hundred dollars. Don"t do it!!!!! It is nothing like what you think you are getting into. |

I already had my credit card out, pen and paper to write down any type of confirmation or transaction number until i accidentally pasted "auction work at home" on goolgle desktop, and got to read the reviews on here.
My good God, i was so terrified. When i read the first few reviews and though people were just hatin' i decided to read every single review maybe someone atleast would say something nice about Cathy Banks and her scheme. To my surprise none. No one said anything nice about the site, am so glad that i didn't spend my next week money on her. I have $200 for next week, i work 40mins from home, gas, so yeah am really glad i read this, thanks alot Steve Albright, the country needs cats like you to sometimes lead folks away from daunting criminals. |

I was tricked some time ago by a scam artist, and I still have not been able to pay the person. So when I see anything like this, I always check it out. I'm sure glad I did this one. Even though I didn't have the money to pay their fee, it did interest me for a later time. Thank you for everyone being honest about this program. You saved me from spending my husband's hard earned money. |

I, like some of the other people on this chat, was just on the Cathy Banks website and recently lost my job. I was considering at first, but also noticed the misspellings and the fact that it just sounded "too good to be true." I am always skeptical regarding most work at home sites and thank God I happened to Google her name and found this. Thanks to all of you for sharing your stories. The saying "It's too good to be true" really is TRUE!!! |

I too googled Cathy Banks Name, being so skeptical these days, and sure enough, a scam, like most oter sites out there. Also pay attention to the pictures of Angel Stevens and Cathy Banks...one in the same??? Awfully coincidental!!! Thanks for the heads up, and always check out these sites!!! |

I thought Cathy Banks program sounded good, but also wondered, if I am posting, am I expecting to deliver? Also, she does not state the name of her company or where it is located so it can not be checked out at the BBB.so this made me suspicious, so I thought 'Hey' I just put her name in on the internet and see what it pulls up. Thank you so much for saving me. I hope others check her out. If it sounds too good to be true it usually is. And when someting says there is only so many people or so much time allowed, that sends up a red flag to beware!! Thanks again. Marsha |
