Chapa Media, inc. Chapa's terms and disclaimers for their subscribers (Cathy Banks)completely resolve them of any responsibility
The company that pays you $5 per listing receives the "clean money" from the auction, and your credit card, which is listed in your personal E-bay account, gets back-charged for the price of the item when the innocent E-bayer demands their money back. By the time you try to contact your employer, they are long gone.
I had not until I received her email. Looked good so I sent the $100+ dollars and have never been able to log onto the actual site to do anything. Hummmmm, looks like a scam to me.
From another contributor
Cathy Banks advertises that you can earn $13.00 by posting products for companies and earn upwards and beyond of $195.00 a day.
First you are asked to join for $197.00 when you don't another window pops up and now you can join for $147.00 imagine that !!!
I paid the 197.00 said I could (not knowing about the second offer) start to make money in minutes after I sign up ( i knew it was not that fast).
Well what do you know i get directed to a site, right away I might add, that now I have to go buy a domain name, build a website and on and on and on !!!. I don't have any experience doing that but there are people that will help me for another fee of coarse. You guessed it another couple hundred dollars or more when all is said and done.
I try to go back to the original site but low and behold I can't get back there. So I go to my e-mail check my in box and spam folder just to be sure for my verification or maybe a welcome letter that you get from just about anything you respond to nowadays. Nothing. So I call the 800 number they don't work on Sunday but they take my money on Sunday
So I wait till Monday call one of the numbers and it is not even the same company, they give me another 800 number. When I do get the phone to ring I am told to call back Wednesday because it is flooding in Chicago. Fact is I still do not know if I have the right 800 number.
This is the good part, about 5 pm I get a phone call from Chris whom represents Auctions work at home. He wants to sell me something else, he will train me IF I QUALIFY FOR THEIR PROGRAM !!!!. OH YEA A FEW MORE THOUSAND SO I CAN BE ONE OF THEIR SUCCESS STORIES, IF I QUALIFY AND HAVE A BIG CREDIT LINE ON MY CREDIT CARD
So I tell Chris what has happened thinking hey give them the benefit of doubt and maybe he can point me in the right direction. Take a guess ??? He doesn't know anything about it or who to call so he gives me the 800 number to customer service, the same one that didn't work before.
That's my experience with this FANTASTIC OPPORTUNITY THAT IS A BAIT AND SWITCH TO GET MORE MONEY FROM ME THAT I DON'T HAVE.
Cathy Banks auctionworkathome is a scam they won't give me my money back or tell me how to get were I can start set up since I was pulled away last night and couldn't finish
This Cathy Banks Work at Home is a fraud. I signed up and wanted my money back, the same as illustrated above. They said it would take some time. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY ON THIS FRAUD. |

This is a scam!!
There is another website, www.workathomerecruiters.com
that has the exact same sob story with the same three kids. All the details are the same except the woman's name is Emily Thomas. Although she and her accountants decided they would only cheat you out of $97. Otherwise it is a duplicate website. |

This Rings of the most intrusive scam to your bank account and credit ever.
I have been Using eBay for over ten years now - I can tell you this.
NEVER trust anyone to ship anything for you if you care about your name and reputation. EVER. If You do not have it in your possession - do not list it.
Can You Imagine listing something as new and the person who bought the item gets a poorly packed bulk shipped item with no tracking? Then the person realizes this when he receives his box of crap and tells pay pal he never got that item.?
Now what do you do?
I will tell you - the money flies out of your hands, You get crap feedback and your good name is tarnished forever.
How Bout this one - You list the item - the pay pal account the money goes to is not even your own ( i believe thats how this works actually)
the item sells - the person either never gets the item - Gets a reman version of the item - gets extremely slow shipping Or countless other things go wrong - Now your left holding the bag with no explanation to give your buyer.
You are screwed.
This so called Opportunity is just a scam praying on people that signed up for eBay without ever reading thier ebay contract.
Bottom Line - This is CRAP - that 200.00 you pay Cathy Banks is a load of profit for her and her staff ( located all over the USA ) and if you fall for this BS . You just are not paying attention and you probably deserve what you get.
The site says about 3/4 of the way down. " Who the Hell is Cathy Banks?"
Guess what Honey. We Know who you are and I personally hope you go down in flames with this Hindenburg Of an opportunity.
I'm betting Cathy Banks is a Failed Lawyer or Maybe shes Just doing the Nasty with one and they laugh it up while they count the money pouring in from Po Dunk towns all over the USA.
I hope this awakens Some people who were smart enough to look this up before doing this. |

Oh My Goodness! I am so glad that I googled Cathy Banks. I have to admit that the offer sounded good. Almost as good as some of the other home based businesses that are scams. Are there any home based businesses that are not scams? I am an honest, God fearing woman looking to make some money from home so I can still be with my family and be my own boss. But it seems like all the home based businesses are just out to get paid and they are all scams. It is so good that so many of you actually checked out Cathy Banks. I will pray that God will convict her heart and that she will stop doing this to honest people. |

This is such a rip off. You pay you $197. in good faith thinking you can get started in a short time making a little extra cash, and when you get to the grand "Congratulations" page, you have nothing, no info. to get you started, not even a stinking password to get on their site. All there is ,is a phone number 1 877 317 0196 that you think will hook you up ,as they promise a one on one consultation. But all these people want to know is how much credit your cc companies will extend to you, and they want a very precise number too, because " as you know , it takes money to make money " . And when you refuse to fork over and more cash, that you just want to give the basic system a try, as after all, you have not even had a chance yet to try it, they just leave you high and dry with nothing. They will not answer any email, nothing, Is there nothing we can do to shut them down ?

I did sign up and no it isn't a scam. You do make whatever you sell the product over the wholesale price. Who ever is googling this needs to google a little better. I have already made 3600 in the past 3 weeks and like they said all I had to do was transfer the funds right to my account off my paypal account. |

If I were a greedy, unethical, and completely irresponsible, criminal minded individual...this would be the best business ever. You have to be an idiot to fall for this B.S. C.Banks basically wants us to serve as the middle person for selling her products at wholesale products for her profits, while we carry (own) the legal responsibilities of the transactions getting completed. Obviously, do not use this product unless you are involved with a law enforcement agency. |
Susan MI | 12:45pm on Thursday, May 7th, 2009 |
The Cathy Bates program does not work and IS a scam. You pay $197 like everyone else regardless of what her offer says. Then when paid you are asked to pay more for other stuff to get started. Then you get a call from "one of her people" and they decide whether you qualify for the program by checking the max charge limit available on your credit card. If you have a lot you are qualified. Then when you start this work you gain $13 and this company is supose to gain the difference between the retail and wholesale cost from the customers purchase. The item(s) purchased never gets delivered to the customer. they complain to e-bay and your credit card takes the hit of the cost of purchase. Example: dvd player ... retail is $120, wholesale is $60. Customer pays $60 and never receives item. Your credit card gets a $60 deduction to refund the customers money. The Cathy Banks Action WorkAtHome gains $60 from a purchase you had to refund. If this sounds like a good business decision for you go right ahead. Oh, by the way, this company is not listed with the BBB. Any company claiming to be well known and legit should not fear being a part of the BBB. As for the 100% money back guarantee... good luck on that one too. the 1-800 doesn't work. You'll never get a live person and never get your money back. instead of earning $200+ your first day, you could lose over $1000+

Shame on them. |

when it takes you to the chat with a representative I asked why does your ad say 90 day money back guarantee and one time fee but when u offer me a lower price now u say its a 30 day guarantee with a monthly fee as well. When I asked why she just kept saying it was a application and processing fee. So I asked if I pay the higher price is there still a monthly fee, she just kept repeating her previous answer. I then insulted her and she thanked me and said I get that alot. I refreshed the screen and went to chat with another agent and when she could not answer my questions she said,I'm sorry i'm new and doing the best I can. Wow people what kind of tech support is that. |

After researching Cathy Banks & her possible ties to Angel Stevens(who took me for $197.00) I can't help but ask why any consumer protection agency hasn't found these thieves & prosecute them for their crimes. The only way these con artists will be stopped is if they are put in jail where they belong & remain locked up until they have repaid every innocent person they have stolen from. |

I don't know if it's a scam, but when someone toots their own horn without reference to who considers her number one and number one in what? I didn't go for it. I fell for the scam as well. I did everything last Friday, and started going through the tutorials, etc and realized it was taking forever and found out you had to go to so many other sites... I decided to cancel today and received my confirmation number... for a couple days I have had an 801 number calling me from Utah. I work full time, so unable to answer my phone... I finally answered and this gal introduced herself and said she was with Cathy Banks. I told her I canceled today... she stated it was okay and they have other opportunities to make money. I told her I wasn't interested and would like to be removed from their list. She was kind of rude, and stated you don't want to make money. I again stated I wasn't interested and to remove me from the list and that they call a million times a day... She then stated "well you never answer your phone"... again in a very rude tone... I told her I work full time already and asked for her name and she hung up, I tried calling the number back to voice a complaint for her rude remarks, the number just rang and rang... Shame on everyone involved, the consultation people, Cathy Banks... some people are in need of real money and not scams. Hopefully I get my refund within the 7 to 14 business days. |

I signed up yesterday and was promised Cathy's email address , plus free 30 minute consultation. I thought to set up the web sites . It wasn't ,they wanted me to give them a thousand dollars to get training and were very insulting. Their customer service is linked to another site that took hundreds out of my account before I knew what was going on and took days to get my money back. One thing that remember is that credit cards can be charged back . But act quickly before they disappear for good. |

well, i don't want to praise this company, but i can't put them down either. i signed up for it, but the process was to time consuming and complicated for me. i didn't go all the way thru the process because it was tricky and worried me. but, it seems to be a process that would work if you had time and quiet to study it and understand it(which i don't). their web page made it sound much more simple than it was. and, i was able to call the one on one support, and also got an answer at the tech support number which is the number i called for my refund. although i just called to cancel today, if i don't get my refund i will let you know. so in all i would be cautious of this or any of these companies, but again it sounds like it could work. |

I bought this program 5 months ago, and have used it successfully. I have heard that a lot of people are saying it is a scam, but based on this post, you don't get it, cause they dont pay you directly, they give you all the tools to list and dropship products, so products do go out to the customer. This program helped me learn how to become an Ebay seller, gave me a website that i use successfully with a store, and i make good money listing products... but the money comes from listing at wholesale, and selling at retail, not from them... i think there is confusion. I have successfully sold over 500 items through this program. |

Complete scam! Anything legitimate job offer online is not going to pressure you to buy ANYTHING from them as this site does. They even go so far as to cut the price in half if you try to navigate away from the site. If it seems to good to be true it almost always is.... Sorry folks - don't fall for it! |
Debbie Michigan | 12:13pm on Monday, March 2nd, 2009 |
I have NEVER fallen for one of these scams but I was really close to pullin' out the ol' credit card. It just sounded to good to be true and lets face it, people do terrible things to decent people all the time. So sorry to everyone who signed up, it did look promising. Beware, there will be a lot of predators out there during these hard times. Be kind but be safe. |

I fell for this scam about an hour ago, then I ran into problems when I tried to registry on the e-bay site but I could not get in using the sign in name and password that "work at home" had given me. Lucky for me I found this site when I was trying to locate this Cathy Banks. I called the bank and was told that the charge 0f $99.00 had not yet been applied against my account. I closed the account. This is a scam and I don't want this woman charging anything else against me. Why won't the law stop her? This is unforgivable. |

I am so glad I looked into this before I gave that lady my money. I have been unemployed for 6 months now, and I am starting to lose my mind here. I have been holding on to my income taxes because I want to stretch them as far as possible, and I thought to research this before I "invested" $145 into myself, as I thought i would be doing with this program. If I had not read your article, I would have been very upset and haunted by the hundreds of ways I could have blown that money to my benefit. |
sheryl Los Angeles | 8:51pm on Sunday, March 1st, 2009 |
For all of you who paid Cathy Banks and didn't get your refund, I would immediately call your credit card companies. They have insurance to cover
fraud. And can provide a "charge back" if you can prove you did not receive product or service
ordered.
I too got the email today and found myself directed here. and had myself immediately removed from their mailing list.

Glad to see I'm not alone in this battle of Cathy Banks. Just like most of you I've been unemployed for 10 months and was looking to bring some income into my family. Normally I triple check things but during desperate times emotions get a hold of you and logics goes out the door. So yes I purchased the plan then today I find this site and all your postings I called 1-800-715-1074 and talked with a very nice agent named Penny - supposedly my account has been canceled (I have a confirmation number - not that it means anything) and I should receive a refund in 7-14 days. So we'll see. I'm glad I only paid $99.00 it's a lot of money but it's less than it could have been. I will be watching my account very closely. I wondered why I hadn't received the CD in the mail - now I know.
Thanks everyone. |

DAMN!!! I can't believe I fell for it. I guess when times are hard you will go to desperate measures to provide for your family. I got this email saying that they had 3 positions left and I needed to respond within 72 hours. I waited and waited and waited. I finally decided what the hell I'm jobless and need to do something fast so I decided to purchase the program for $99. YES I KNOW! WHAT A DUMB ASS DECISION!!! I should have done my research.I should have known better when I let it go past 72 hours and the offer still stood that this was a scam. LIAR!!! CATHY BANKS & ANGELA STEVENS are SCAM ARTISTS who prey on people like YOU & I who are actually trying to make a living for themselves and their family. I just told myself to let it go and charge it to the game. WARNING!!!FRAUDULENT AUCTION WORK AT HOME BS!!! CAUTION BEWARE OF CATHY BANKS AND ANGELA STEVENS AND WHOEVER ELSE SENDS YOU SOME BULLSH*T EMAIL ABOUT WORKING AT HOME. |

This stuff is hilarious! I was just on another work at home website and it was the EXACT SAME SITE as Cathy Banks's site, there were only two differences. Cathy's site is working off e-bay and the one I was just on was filling out rebates. Oh, and there names were different. But it had the exact same layout! The same history, even the same place that they lived when she got divorced in New York. |

Is she related to Angle Stevens or Angela Penbrook it sounds like the same person . A thieve . I glad to hear about Cathy Banks thanks |

I was trying to check this out when I came across Linda Pearce Process Auction at Home. It is the exact same as Cathy Banks. Isn't it a shame that when people really need help, people who have found good opportunities try to scam others. Whatever happened to helping because it is the right thing to do. |

Wow... having been recently laid off from my job of 13 years and having a difficult time finding another job, I have been researching home businesses online for weeks now. Although I know most are scams, I too was almost sucked into this one so yessss... thank God for reviews. For those of you who WERE seduced by what seemed to be a promising and easy way to make money at home (but I too noticed the few inconsistencies within the website and terms and conditions), my only advice is ALWAYS do the research and read the reviews before giving away a cent of your hard earned money. Karma's a b*tch and all the internet scammers out there will get theirs w/out a doubt. |

WOW! I've never been happier to be broke because if I had the $$$ I would have gone for it right away! Lucky for me I don't get paid 'till Monday and I had time to research it. I assume they have more than one site because I didn't get the offer from Cathy but from Linda Pierce.
Good luck to those of you who've been scammed. |

I purchased the product Cathy claimed was an easy money maker. After making the purchase, I had questions. I called customer service and was told that number I called was only for opening and closing accounts. I was given a tech support number and of course they arent open on weekends. I went to the website given on the tech support recording and it too is closed on the weekend. I called customer service and canceled my order. |

I had been extra careful with offers of generating money "home based". Cathy Banks' approach can fool anyone. I almost paid $147, a discounted price as presented. With some doubts for a possible scam, I used my card that I plan to close for the transaction and true as I proceed with the process, and upon acceptance of payment, everything on her website as instructed disappeared. I called my bank to close the account right after and no transaction was made yet. Cathy truly generates money thru scamming innocent people. Thanks to your
webpage. |
Rally Virginia | 12:16pm on Friday, February 6th, 2009 |
I just signed up for this opportunity, only to find out that all the phone numbers provided led to other phone numbers and people trying to sell me additional technical support. The "start right away" charm has worn off quickly; I can't even get anyone to help me get started period! The ads are convincing, but poorly written. I've already wasted too much of my valuable time trying to understand the start up. Thanks to this site, and all the warnings about not getting refunds, I immediately canceled my credit card, as the charge had not yet appeared. THANKS SO MUCH! Too bad that this kind of site can't be shut down; obviously, anyone wanting to start a business needs to make money, not lose it! |
Tracy IL | 8:25am on Friday, February 6th, 2009 |
Any entrepreneur with the amount of experience as Cathy(If there is a Cathy at all) professes to have, would have at least spell checked the document. The word “You” is spelled YOu twice and there are other misspellings. This is obviously a scam!!! A legitimate sales and marketing company would have paid a professional to edit and proofread. |

I too am unemployed and looking for away to replace my income. Glad I read the reviews on this site. I agree with the one I read always do a google/yahoo search before giving up your money. Every dog has its day. Cathy banks and Angel Stevens Day is coming. Along with all their co-horts. |

I had my credit card in hand. I lost my job a month ago and need something to make ends meet. The problem is that it is so believable. I am thankful for your review, and the other comments posted. You just saved me $150. |

The sad part about this is that there are actually people out there willing to prey on the desperation of those in need. There should be a way to stop people like that. If she is going to advertise in America, provide a service here and collect money from it's citizens, then she should be bound by the same laws that we are. Fraud is illegal...and thus, she should have to answer for her claims. I don't care where in the world she is located. Let's put together a task force, find her and people like her, bring back here, and punish them under our law. Sorry...had to vent. |

Oh My God! i am so glad i googled that b**ch Cathy! I am a full time student and a stay at home wife/mother desperately looking for a part time job and have no luck. i open my spam mails and saw the offer and i was about to get 147 dollars from my hard working husband to start this program with guarantee that i will increase our income! Thank God for google! and I feel for those Cathy took their money!ya should press charges!lol |
Leah Downriver, Mi | 11:38am on Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009 |
Well of course we would all love to stay home and earn a fortune in just minutes a day! That's what these scammers prey on, but no one should fall for an ad filled with misspellings and that's unable to keep track of the lies! Which is it "Cathy" were you on welfare or working 2 jobs? 'Cause if you had 2 jobs I'm pretty sure that you can't collect welfare! |

The number of people out there Scamming those who truly need income just sickens me. I have been the victim of other work from home scams and have lost desperately needed money on "guaranteed" results. You'll never get your money back from the people you gave it to because you'll never be able to contact them. The refund websites don't exist. Thank you for this website and the honest reviews. You've all saved me from another mistake.
I keep looking because I know there is a legitimate work at home opportunity, I have yet to find it. |

If you read the "Terms & Agreements" section, it differs from her package price($50.00 difference) as well as the return policy of 90 days. According to the "T&A" it said 30 days. Thanks Steve for your posting. |

Just another Cathy Banks victim, sent the money, got nothing in return. Also another scammer called & said he was part of the group that Cathy Banks was with, no doubt, He wanted personal information as a rouse of representing a group of experts that would show me how to make money from my credit card balance. He claimed he was a screener for these experts, & they would show me how to use my credit cards to make more money then card payments plus interest. I tried to get information from him as he was trying to get information from him. He was as evasive as I was & I hung up. Don't fall for either of them. |
kat NY | 7:19pm on Friday, January 30th, 2009 |
PLEASE dont' fall for it!!!! I saw "Cathy Banks"on another site trying to sell something else and she calls herself JULIE. Besides, it is the exact same website that Angel Stevens is using to help you become a Rebate Processor . And, Angel Stevens is on another website dressed as a doctor trying to sell Acai Berry Extreme supplements, and warning about the danger of being scammed by fake supplements! Just "internet actresses"! |

i got through on the 1 800 715 1074 number and was reassured i would get my refund for the 105.00 after i repeated the confirmation number. the 952 908 4122 mn is directly to wherever this place is based explaining why i get a foreign language. i am usually not taken in and never fallen for a scam before. i hope i get the money back it's not like i could afford it just as many others can't. if not, then it is an expensive lesson learned. i will never even open a work at home offer again. thank you so much for this site! if nothing else, i at least get to share my pain and not feel like the only ass taken in. LOL. hopes and prayers for everyone in the hard times now and ahead. dawn |

I'm glad I checked it out! With being on unemployment now, and at home with a newborn it is tempting to have some money coming in that I can stay so home. I can't afford to give my money away to someone who does not need it more than me! |
